So I raced my buddy the other night he has a 2006 altima ser with a cai (auto) and i have a 2006 ss/sc bone stock, we did a 35mph i had a 260 pound passenger and he was alone we raced till about 120 he had me by about a fender, i told him that its not fair that i have a passenger and he doesnt and he said "that wont change anything! well put him in my car and youll see" so we put the passenger in the altima and did a 35mph roll again by about 85 i was already a car ahead and he let off because i kept pulling! and he didnt want to look stupid having a cobalt beat his SER, he said he wanted to do it with drivers in the car only, so we dropped our buddy off on the side of the road "to make us some money!" heheh jk! once again 35mph and by about 100 i had a car on him! weve been arguing about it alot latley and he wont let go of the fact that he got beat by my car! we have it on vid when the passenger was in his car but it is on a cell and he doesnt know how to load it up! haha! but anyways thats that! i love beating people that least expect you too!

yep! makes cars sound incredibly good though! my fiance has a 05 rsx type-s with a cai and we race for fun sometime and god forbid i have my window open when we race her damn vtec blows my ears apart! lol and yeahh its my first post i got my car about a month ago! totally lovin it!

 

welcome, an nice car i love the ss/sc an will always take them over nissan altimas even though i love nissan just as much cobalt > altima

 

I was just sayin', the colder air is good for the supercharger. Cold dense air = more power.

oh yeah definetly! i already got all the overlay for the lights ie; headlights,tails, bumper lights, and the little trunk light, hopefully this coming spring STAGE 2! but well see!

Haha good kill and I like the way you wrote it. The Altima SE-R manuals though are definitely stronger over the auto version. The auto Altima's are mid 14's while the manuals get into the low 14's stock.

Thanks for all the replies guys! i use to be a huge import lover! still do but the cobalt is something far different! fun a$$ car and fairly quick! like i said my finace has a rsx -type-s and hates losing to me! but when i had a spec-v she use to kick my a$$ but now shes a tad bit mad that my car might be a little faster then hers! cant wait to get started on the mods, to bad i have to wait till spring! no heated garage so dont feel like freezing! lol

good run, if u want to see what the vtec and your not staged, do a 60 roll vs your wife and she will likely have you.

oh i told her if it were to very good drivers that the type-s would smoke that crap out of me from a dig till top end! its just she has about 6+ mnths worth of driving a stick and i have about 4+ years of driving at the strip so i guess its not too fair lol!

im saying her top end should pull you. at least from my experience when i was stock how it was.

 

idk man! ive taken her car to the drag strip and i learned how to launch it while staying in vtec the whole time! that car is C-RAZY!!!! if you can master that! no joke! id like to think that i could beat her off the line but id need someone with more driving/racing experience to really test it out. u know?

 

yeah i raced a red one a while back i was just coming into town this car comes flying past me. i see him sitting at the light waiting to turn left i drove past him and revved pretty loud that made him mad he came out of the left turn signal and caught up to me trying get me to race him i wouldnt cuz there was too many cars so i proceeded to drive to where there was no cars and he was still following me after 5 mins. we did a 40 roll i had him by 3 or 4 cars. he seemed to get mad cuz he slammed his brakes and turned off maybe didnt want to ackowledge the cobalt is faster. im not sure what he had i had straight stage 2 and magnaflow mufflers.

Not from my experiance. Well at least with older se-r's. Never raced the newer coupe version. I hear they are faster than the older ones.
