SS/SC vs Eclipse

Well ran into an eclipse gs that was turboed, dont know the year, maybe 96ish? not the two newer styles, drove out to an unoccupied road and went from a roll and a dig. He had a pretty sizable turbo on the sucker and had forged internals, had a few other mods but i can't remember them.

Racing about a quarter mile, the first race we went from a dig and he took me by about a car, my launch wasn't the best so who knows how it would have went down if i launched better. Second race we went from a roll at about 20, i took him in that one by about a car and a half. Talked to him afterwards, nice guy, and he said he prolly expects about a low 13 at the track if he would run it, if thats the case i figure it was a pretty good run then, hopefully ill meet up with him again after i get the stage 2 kit on.

is the sc hard to launch? i raced couple of them and took them off the line by a car or more. or maybe the stock tires dont grip? who knows all i have to say is that i love my falcon z rated tires. they hook up perfect

No idea, ill ask, but right now i think hes running like 9 psi, as soon as he turns that up he'll tear me up. The sc is pretty hard to launch especially on the stock tires, dropping the clutch is out of the question so you just kinda have to find the ride speed at which to slip it

If you're stock and the races were that close (within a couple cars), when he goes to the track he's going to be disappointed because there's no way in hell he's gonna run low 13's. Especially since you said you're launch wasn't that great. The fastest a stock Cobalt has run is low 14's and that is a rarity since most people are high 14's or even low 15's.
