ss/sc vs lightning

i was driving around last night and found a newer lightning to play around with. I was pretty sure i was gonna get my ass handed to me but decided to go for it anyways. We get on the highway and go from about 50..i was in third and didnt bother down shifting so i dropped back to the back of his door. we ran again and i down shifted this time and ended up keeping my front bumper at the front of his front wheel up to about 150 when i shut down.

i was very impressed that i kept up with him, he turned off though and i kept going, getting lost in the country so i didnt get to ask what he had done so i'm assuming it was near stock. thats all

I raced one once from a 60 roll on the freeway and he just flew off. When that happened i only had the airbox mod.

A friend of mine has an 03 Ford Lightning beautiful truck. We raced from a roll I have stage 2 and the GMPP catback and he is stock. He pulled me by about a half of a car to a full car lenght from a roll. From a stop where he is an auto he got me because I suck at launching, we raced up to 130 or so and he had me by 2 cars. Those trucks are fast dont' let them fool you.

Very much agreed, I would rather have a lightning over an SRT-10 Ram any day.

I haven't lost to an SRT-10 at the track yet, can't say the same about
the Lighting though.I would have to say that a clean Syclone still rules.

Hittin 12's in a lightning is no problem, get some slicks, a blower pulley, and a tune and it will run low 12's all day!

I just bought an 04 DSG Lightning with 2500 miles on it about two weeks ago. Its a fun truck to drive and I must say its more fun to drive than my mustang. Im getting ready to order a Stg2 Kit from Lightning Force Performance wich should put it in the high 12s.

There were some changes between years though

99-00: 3.55 gears, weaker tune (360/440 at the fly), smaller intercooler, smaller 80mm MAF, and ran the 1/4 mile in the high 13s.

01-04: 3.73 gears, better tune (380/450 at the fly), bigger intercooler, larger 90mm MAF and ran the 1/4 mile in mid-high 13s.

Good race, the trucks are fast but aerodynamics and weight really start to hurt it past 100mph.

haha...I had a run in with a lightning the other night. He broke it loose from a stop and I said..."am I supposed to be impressed by somthing I can do at 60mph?"...he said" haha funny"...and I replied..."no...funny is having a get in sit down hold on and shut up sticker in the back of a slow as early model lightning."

rednecks

Im sorry jeremie, im going to have to call BS too. What i think happened is you car went so fast you lapped the lighting and the earth its self. The super sonic speed must have messed up your memory of the event.
