ss/sc vs ss monte carlo

well on the way back to a friends house i pass a monte carlo, not even wanting to race well he speed passed. me and about a mile up the road i caught up to him. well by this time we already going about 80 on the local highway and i give him alittle gas and let off well i thought he might do the same well when i came back to him he floors it and instantley i mash the gas and he already gets a car and half on me. I was pretty supprised by the pick up on thoughs well anyways i caught him easy, i dont know if they are governed or not but i was in 4th when i mashed it and still passed him going about 120 it seemed like his car couldnt go any faster it was sweet, plus he didnt let off at all or even brake. well wish i could get a run from a stop with him. I got a question have any of you run into one?

There are sooooo many Monte Carlo SS's around here. Several are the Dale Ernhart 'Intimidator' edition. I have even seen one with the front fendors COVERED with NASCARish stickers and it was riding on tires with yellow writing on the sidewalls. I want to smack one down so bad but so far NONE will play

That's the 3.8 V6, or the 3.8 S/C V6. We will win stock for stock, don't worry. My Mom has an '03 3.8 with the Jeff Gordon package. Nice car, but I'm definatly faster. And you won't see those cars with the gold lettered tires for too much longer, Goodyear stopped making them because the sidewalls split.

I'm curious about the new 5.3 V8, but I haven't seen one yet.

I've seen several 5.3 Impala SS's but no 5.3 Monte's. So far each the Impala's I have come accross were either a) Parked or b) Driven by someone 55 years old or older. I once came across a younger guy driving one in Detroit with manufacturer plates, I know he would have played, but I was in my wife's car (2.2L ION)

The 5.3L V8 (Impala/Monte Carlo) is the same in performance as the 2.0L SS/SC but we have an extra gear so we pull in 4th pretty hard on them. Stock for Stock dig or roll we are even.

The point I was going to make, many are breaking into the 13's alot easier than the SS/SCs are.
