ss/sc vs ss/sc

I was driving home tonight around midnight.. I live on a back road, so it was odd that a car flies up behind me and then pulls up beside me while driving. I thought it was someone I knew so I stopped. He says what do you have done do that and we talked a while. Turns out he lives only 3 miles away... same mods basically.

He said he put down 306 to the wheels dynoed, which I have no reason to doubt him; however, also know most member on here would also call BS with those mods… so who knows I only have 256 though on my last run.

We basically just ran through the gears for fun. Middle of the night, no other cars, 5 miles visibility. I think the exhaust addition since my dyno really bought me a lot of upper end power. Either way, both cars were evenly matched and we both shifted near perfect… it was fun. I was gaining a bit in forth, but everything else was close to even. Was nice to meet another owner. He isn't on the site yet, but I believe he knows some people on here. I showed him the site and some vendors he hadn't heard of yet.

I pull over and my AIT2 is reading 200! I seriously think I have cooling issues. I have been tweaking my dual pass and it is finally reading 90 cruising 140 very max normal driving. Even on a normal shorter acceleration of length it usually only hits 160 and drops right back to 120… this time it only gets down to 150 after I drive a while and get home.

K, I may be dumb is AIT2 engine temperature? Cause my car runs between 185 and 190 normally. Is that considered hot? I thought it was normal. When i'm stuck in traffic it goes up to 200 sometimes. Should I be worried? And nice race..

AIT2 is after the intake air passes the supercharger and heats up. It should be below 140, since above the ecu starts cutting back. I have never heard anyone hit 200+ and I might have even gone down some by the time I looked.

Yeah, even going just by the numbers... First, you don't know how much difference from day to day dyno to dyno. Second, the max values don't matter as much as how much power at what points.

On a side note: he is a nice kid. I have nothing against him, but he also had a "8k redline" which I'm fairly certain flat out isn't possible without serious damage to the head so...

If he shifted at the same time as you, then you know he didn't have an 8k redline... you'd need new Valve Springs in order to rev that High.

Still, I believe what people tell me. He might have it raised to 8k just to have no limiter to hit. He might even not know it shouldn't go that high.
