Do they make solid motor mounts for the Cobalt? That would kill the hop...

Yes and No.

By swapping out the front and rear mount for a Poly-U mount, the engine will be more rigid.

A transvers Monuted FWD car can benifit in so many ways form this mod.

The car will shake a bit. Ask p7x, he has been in my car.

That's about 350lb-ft at the crank. Not too bad for a slow wrx

It isn't making 350FtLbs at the crank.

I'm also curious, why not? 20-22% driveline loss, you do the math. This is an STi block almost the same motor, with a smaller turbo than the STi which makes more torque and shifts the curve, so after remapping and a little better breathing exhaust you don't think it's possible? Or do you think the Cobb numbers are false?

A bud of mine did a 2.5 Flat 4 stroked to 2.7 full built running 26.5 PSI. His motor dynoed 380 Ft/lf at 5600 RPM..

That Car Moves...

I believe Cobbs numbers...there stuff may not be cheap, but that doesn't make them liers, I'm at 380-385Ft/Lbs at the crank right now...its crazy how much TQ this engine can make.

The Flat 4 is an awesome Power Plant for Torque. Basically it's ony negative is the added complication of having the manifolds at both sides of the engine bay.

Well maybe it does then, to bad it doesn't really matter since it gets ate up by the AWD anyway.

Drivetrain loss while substantial in awd cars it's by no means a deal breaker. With a stock baseline of 245 awhp and 258 awtrq, I jumped with a DP and tuning to 280 plus awhp and 293 plus awtrq before the ecu really started learning. Do the math and see what the crank numbers would equate to. Mind you this number is on a mild 17 lbs peak tapering to a stock 14 ish conservative tune. Either way I am not concerned with dyno peak numbers since I had my tuner make sure the powerband is broad and comes on early.

yeah awd eats up some hp...but in the higher speeds you would have taken him for sure.
