SS/TC > r32

so a kid at work keeps buying VWs had a 1.8t a vr6 well he finally got the VW r32 its bone stock + subs awd 3.2. so after work (a factory in mexico) last night he wanted to see if this one could get past the SS. i had 5 cars on 1.8t ( i thought it was 3 put he said i was gone mirrors are inaccurate i guess) 2 on the vr6 ( intake cat back exhaust a tune? and a clutch) both from a 35 roll

so getting up to the R32

we decided on a 35 roll he jumps on me forgetting the horns so he slows down and were side by side next we honk and its on. right away i pull 3/4 of a car in second with the ESC off NLS to third and i pull on him hard im ahead by a good distance he is not gaining any on me so i NLS in to 4 and its over i had at least 2 cars between us on him and im doing a 110 so i shut down and he went flying bye so we pull into the bank at the end of the strip and he claims he know he jumped it and says hes sorry and then he goes he was in to high of a gear so i was okay want to line up again so on to race 2

so were going 35 side by side i honk 3 times and its on now he is in the right gear cuz i see this thing squat so he pulls maybe a fender while im in second well as soon as i hit full boost i give him that fender right back and nls in to third and i pull on him hard he is now at my tails and he stays there but im inching and as i slam it in to 4th i just pull about a full car on him and i see him shut down so i slowed down too and we meet up at the gas station and we talk a bit b4 heading out

but thats the story stock to stock i was a lil worried about the awd factor but it wasnt from a dig so i got over it pretty quick then he says it has 240 hp 240 tq so right there im lik okay with awd and rotating mass he may lose up to 15 to 35 percent of that power dont really know not a big vw motorhead hope you guys enjoyed it was something different then jettas and hondas around here but it was one of the nicest vdubs ive ever seen those seats are legit kind of what a pair of them

he wont lose any percentage of power with the AWD.. its helidex(spelling? lol) turns on and off as you need it, launching itll be on, then go to front wheel drive when its no longer needed... i love r32s lol... tell him to get an exhaust, youll be fast no mater what buuuttt his will always sound better lol (not that the ss/tc doesnt sound good) im a VW guy lol.. used to have a VR6 262cam, intake, exhaust, tune etc...

No they are not,R32's were only made in 04 and 08. The 04 came in manual, the 08 came with the DSG.

07 was the intro euro model 08 was the first production year for america. (But they were here in 2007) The euro models also god the DSG and 6 SP. THe american models were stuck with the DSG (Which is the best transmission anyways). The new VW R:. (The new "R32") is only coming to the states as manual only. I should have clarified.

are you kidding? the drive train doesnt disappear. there is still friction and it will lose power with it just being there, even though power isnt put to the back.

r32's are slow and over priced. They can sound great. but when they break they BREAK and you better pay to play... My friend has a newer one and the transmission computer broke, $8k for the part from germany and 3 months later it was fixed. f those cars.

thats crazy since I had the entire DSG tranmission (With the module) in my 06 GLI replaced under warranty, the PO sheet only read 3100 and some change, and that was fixed in a week. No one pays 8K for a trans module. (90% of the parts are AUDI, and they have them stateside)

Stock for stock, I beat a newer R32 on a trip to Mexico myself. I went to pass him at a slow rate of speed and the ****** Floored it to prevent me from passing so I dropped a gear and floored it as well. Got up to 120ish mph... I pulled him slowly, like a foot per second.

A neighbor of mine has a MKIV R32 (the squarish body). They are nice sounding cars for sure. I would love to boost one, they rip... I ran a SC'd R32 right after I got done with all my mods and it was fender to fender with me til like 100 then I got a half car when we shifted at like 110 into 4th so we shut down right after. They are pretty murderous off the line too... I would take one over a EVO or a WRX anyday.
