just my $0.02!
Okay I understand theres a lot more R/Ts but I talked to the guy after and it was an Srt8 unless the badges and the driver was lying.

My buddy greg owns the black srt-8 that i posted with some pics of my car awhile back, with my BYT/Trifecta tune and meth i put a couple buses on his car from a 40-130 race. Before meth with just the hpt BYT tune i was putting a 1-2 cars on him in the same race.

what is up with this "racing from a roll" crap??? Some guy in a Civic wanted to race me from a 60 roll?? I want to know what you would run in a heads up race. If anyone is interested and lives close, let me know. All the guys i know are all SS/SC's and i have yet to run a turbo car. I have a vid of me running 13.9 @ 101mph taken by Stealthy1ss. My 13.8 run was racing him, so its not on tape.

I put 5 cars on an SRT-8 challenger from 40-110ish.

We do dig races all the time over here. Thisas a spur of the moment thing. Next time I'm on the highway on my way home from work, and a sports car or anything wants to play, I'll just yell out the window "hey I can't race cause prndl said I'm not allowed to do rolls"

I have already taken down a couple srt8s. They are a heavy car.

a well tuned tc is NOT a 12 second car. theres only a FEW ss/tc's on this site that are in the 12's. and most are 12.9x too. MOST tuned tc's are mid to low 13 second cars. lets be realistic.

This is correct, a well tuned and bolted TC is a solid 12 SEC car though; and Will trap from 110-116 depending on DA. On roll races people need to compare traps.

I know what they will trap and whatnot and we have gone over this. but no offense IF it was a SOLID 12 second car then shouldnt more people be in the 12's? an average driver on an average day will hit mid to low 13's. thats just what they run. at LEAST 95% of people that take their cobalts to the track run 13's or maybe even 14's, 5% or less actually run 12's.

regardless, I could definitely see a tuned ss/tc let a srt8 get the jump, then reel him in a pull him. no doubt in my mind.

thats what I am saying, its a 12 sec car.... 90 percent of people who drive performance cars do not know how to drive them. Go to the track and see how many people in vipers run 13's and high 12's. The viper is a solid 11's car, the the right hands a 10 sec car.

The same rule goes for a tunes SS/TC's/Vetts/Street Bikes. Stock turbo'd SS/TC's have gone from 11.9's to 14's. Not everyone is on this site posting their timeslips up. It took me 2 runs at Bradenton to get my 12 Sec time. (12.79@114.7) My 1st run was a 13.0@115. (Had a shitty 60')

I agree with thos post 100%

I've watched Z06's run 14's @12x. The car can be a 6 second car but the driver might still only run 12's.

I run mid-high 11's with my car so I don't get kicked off the track for not having a rollcage.

I fit this profile. I will admit it, I am not great at launching this car. Which is why I almost never race from a dig. The fastest I have run is 13.2 at 117.8 MPH on a 2.4 sixty foot time (no traction on the stock contis) I never NLS either. I used to cut 1.9 sixtys all day on my old stock Mustang GT. FWD needs lots of help but just look at Cmillers setup (slicks, chains, footballs, etc) Without it and his driving the car is a high 12 to low 13 second car.

yes but a majority of z06's dont run 14's. or lets put it this way. wayyyy more ss/tc's run 14's than z06's. obviously anything can happen, but a MAJORITY of the time a ss/tc with full bolt ons and tune will run mid to low 13. a MAJORITY of the time a z06 will NOT run a 14 second 1/4 mile.

I have to agree with shibito... I have seen a Z06 run a 14. He lit the tires up for like 150 feet and when he finally hooked up, the rev limiter was the only thing that told him when to shift, it was painful to watch. I ran a 14.5 in my S-10 with a supercharger that day... I still feel totally stoked that I was almost in the same class as a Z06 with a **** driver haha!

OP= good kill if it is an R/T or an SRT-8 they still paid at least $10k more brand new than a SS/TC.

If you want to get down to what the majority run, I would bet you that the majority of Z06 owners only run 12's.

From a roll it could have been a drivers race with a stock TC and a Manual shift SRT-8. The power to weight ratios are pretty close. 4200lb roughly 350whp car vs a 2900lb roughly 235whp car. That's like 0.083 P/W ratio for the Challenger vs. 0.081 P/W ratio for the Cobalt. Not cracking on the Challenger owners, but your cars are ridiculously heavy. Heavier than my 1975 Ranchero GT which is pretty much a Station Wagon with the rear roof cut off. An auto Challenger SRT-8 wouldn't have stood a chance, especially if you were going uphill.

I've watched a Stg 2 LSJ beat a stock Challenger SRT-8 from a roll.
