SS/TC vs EVO 9

Good Friend of mine just purchased an evo9 about a month ago , sweeet car , great all around really . So of course we ran lol .

First Roll:

then about a week later , linked up with a newfound friend , added some basic mods and HPtuned her !

Second Roll:

So , to all my fellow SS/TC owners , whats the sweet spot for tuned balts ? what works best fo r us ? the difference is night & day between the stock and custom tune ! i dont regret a cent paid for the tune ! i need some advice , should i just start going from 3rd in rolls ? feather the gas in 2nd ? I gotta get driving with this tune down to my advantage

You guys talk about new tires lol, I go on craigslist, and just buy used tires, so far the best traction ive got was with some cheap ass china tires, that I picked up all 4 for $60 bucks lol

Also depends what HP and TQ levels we are talking about. Not a lot of tires will hold in 2nd when you get over 300wtq

I still have brand-new tires on the Cobalt. Im talking about the gto. These tires I got were 60 bucks no names. And they hook super well from a dig or roll. Tire temp they say is 240 for best traction. In the rain, all I do is slide around, cause they suck in the rain, but o well. Cant complain for $60 lol

My Pirellis hold decent through second, but still a bit of slip with 315whp. Gotta ease the throttle on.

You would spin cause of torque.

So from 40mph you drop it in second and punch it to the floor?

SS/SC here..

Pretty much. I don't think there is much difference betwee ss/sc and ss/tc in second gear.

On an LNF with bolt ons and a tune if you just punch it in 2nd you'll light the tires up. 360wtq~ will do that. I'm not sure what traction is like in the SC. Possibly a little more stable without the huge torque spike.
