I'll agree, but this should also be posted on Honda enthusiast forums since on average they're no better than anyone else, there's always 1 or more (yes it's an expression ) in every crowd. I'd be willing to be 40% of replies to the thread would be "the Cobalt is a domestic it ******* sucks" or "see how it holds up in 200,000 miles"...read it all, seen it all...so it's not just this forum....the OP is an odd one out of the crowd and I respect him for his comments. I agree, any true enthusiast will have mutal respect for another vehicle win or lose. I just have a hard time dealing with arrogance and stupidity when it's unfounded and not required. This thread is the way ALL war stories should go, one car vs another, respect for the other vehicle and the winner is completely chill and has nothing but positive feedback on the vehicle; to them I give .
Lol I agree with your view on a honda forum....... I read youtube **** all the time when import guys calls us..... cavalier's with body kits and junk chevy..... ect ect.
Just saying that this thread is the way things should be .....not the exception hehe.

A buddy of mine has a little brother that recently purchased a 2009 SS Cobalt. Since then he has done a full exhaust, no cat, intake, suspension, clutch/flywheel and Trifecta tune. So my friend tells me that he wants to go against the Civic. I say sure why not. I wanted to see what these things had. I just needed a day to get the car ready. (removed front dampers for stock, fluid change, take off street exhaust for the dump) So a week later we decide to head over to a stretch of closed road. It was another friend's property and perfect for a good ole drag. He decided to run on DRs and I was on BFG SRs. I didn't have a problem with that. We hang out for a bit and talk (not car related) then after a little over an hour we head outside and warm up.
Round 1:
We line up and go on 4 count. Obviously he's had some practice with launching on DRs because he shot out like a rocket on the start. I was hurting for traction in first so I feathered the throttle trying to get it back. I grab second while he was over two lengths ahead. Once I hit 3rd I started closing the gap pretty quickly. At about this time I saw him spit out a ball of fire. I hit 4th and came door to door. We started running out of pavement so we shut it down.
Round 2:
We line up again on a 4 count. I don't think he got as good of a launch this time but I got a much better one than before. So the holeshot was pretty even. I was on the right so my dump was deafening even when my window was up. I throw it into second and started pulling on him. I hit 3rd and was one length ahead. I got to the top of 4th and I had pulled about 2.5 car lengths.
I was surprised with how quick his car was with just those mods. I guess that tune really livens up the car. All in all fun races. Oh and I know the guy too he's not a bag of tools. There was no **** talk, like most kill stories seem to have haha. We all relaxed by the pool for the rest of the night.
