The Pre-LS1 corvettes are fun to play with though.

Driving an 99 LS1 myself, its fun to compare the 2. But as we all know, the vette will rape it. The LT1 at 300 HP (92 to 96) is still pretty fast though.

About 3 weeks ago, I was at the local track and I got lined up with Cobalt SS. He didn't do too bad, he ran 14.5@100 and I ran 12.2@117 (with street tires). I was impressed with his run.

Yup, it helps but still I am spinning way too much off the line. I have been able to get the 60' time down to 1.93 or so but still spins quite a bit all the way to second gear. I need to buy set of ETs or DRs.

I would love to get a 1.9, heck even a 2.0 or 2.1 60' on street tires. How's your 330' looking?

That's not bad, not bad at all. I think a decent set of Drag Radials would work well for you. ET's may take off as much on the top end as you'd gain on the bottom end.

I'd bet with a decent set of DR's you'd get in the 1.7 60' range and probably a sub 5.0 330' w/ an 11.8ish 1/4 @ about the same trap speed.

Yeah, I agree with you about with DRs, I'll be looking at 11.8xx range. But this season is almost over (at least here St. Louis track) so I'm going to wait until next year for DRs.

I don't know if I could do it or not but I'm going to try to get 11.9xx with street tires now that the temperature is dropping quite a bit and our DA will be less that 2000. We'll see, if anything else, I'll be having fun trying.

Cool. Good luck with it.

Drag Racing season is really just starting here. It is finally cooling down, another month and I'll actually be running during the day, rather than at night.
