SS vs CRX

Ok, I have a friend who is gonna be buying 1990 CRX. Now, he said that it will be a close race or possibly he'll beat me with my SS/SC, both are not modded in any way. I know very lil bout the CRX but he said it's 1000 lb less than a SS/SC and would beat it cause it's so light. He said it has a new engine and it's the same engine as a 2000 Civic SI thats in it, whats ur POV?

The CRX is defantely light. The B16 from the 00' Si is a great motor, but you could still take him I think. It may be a close race. I raced a 93 Civic hatch that weighed in at 2100lbs and laid down 187 whp and 125 ft lbs from B18 GSR all motor that reved to 9500 rpm, and I barely beat him with just and intake! Do it, and let us know how it turns out.

My friend has a built b16 in his crx with internals and all that junk. He thinks he will smoke me... Keep in mind the b16 is only 160hp to the crank...

This is what will happen linkage

I have stroked 2 so called b16 crxs from around here. not just a long stroke, a full on **** money shot stroke. If you can't launch the car, he may keep up with you to the end of 2nd. from a roll, 3/4 peddle may be all you need.

Nah, he won't beat you. It's also not 1000 pounds less than our car either. The SS weighs in at around 2850 pounds or so, his CRX is around 2100 pounds. Thats pretty far from 1000 pounds.

Whoever it was, that was some serious ownage. Why'd the CRX even keep trying so hard when he was down by 8 car lengths....?

first gen CRX weights between 1819 - 1953 lbs.

the SI weights in around 2100 lbs either way pretty light.
