My car is equipped with the WS6 performance and handling package, and its got 17in rims on performance tires. Its only about 200lbs more than a comparable Evo or STI. Think you could lose me in the twisties in your family sedan?? Think again.

The bad thing is, I think youre actually being serious. My family sedan, not beat an f body at auto x, are you insane??? I will say that f bodies can be fast in a strait line, but please, never say that an evo or sti cant destroy an f body with a suspension... you obviously havent been t an auto x event and I guarantee youve NEVER been to a rally event and raced either of these car stock, and DEFINATELY not one with suspension upgrades(coilovers+sway bars). Tell me you have, go ahead.

I never said my car sounds better than a mustang/camero/firebird now did I??? you know whats funny about the last part of your comment was??? My turbo is fully spooled fast enough to make me run 11.7@119 in the 1320. Oh, btw, that is the stock turbo. Spool is not an issue

While stevo is a bit under estimating the EVO, I think everyone is also underestimating the fbody. They did pull .90-91 on the skid pad, and with suspension can handle pretty well...

Now that doesn't mean its a good car, they have a horrible interior and I really don't like them. But that doesn't mean they can't handle. As much as you say hes never been to an AUTOX event, I bet just as much you've never thrown a Fbody into the twisties have you? Or a GTO for that matter, The goat is heavy but I would say its all around a better car than the Evo or STI for the price because its alot easier to drive daily, making it the all around better car...

I agree the goat is pried great, and I have races a couple of f bodies at auto x events, and all I can say is, they had no chance in hell of catching me. Ive never driven a fbody in the twisties, but I sure have raced them. They werent the worst cars there, but they werent even close to me or my buddies impreza. You can say its a better daily driver, and I can say the evo is better, but it boils down to personal preferance. Ive made my choice and youve made yours.

Remember, everyone has different needs and wants from their car... I wouldn't say easy, I would say that the GTO is a lot more confortable. My friend has one and I absolutely love the interior of the Goat. The seats in the back rock. However, as stated before, everyone has different needs. I needed a 4 door to get my son's seat in and out of the back. Hence the 4 doors. Add in I'm not a fan of big cars and the list goes down. The fact that I wanted something to replace my motorcycle to take to the track (road race) and it came down to the STi or the Evo. Since the STi seats in the back have less leg room than the Evo, and is a lot cheaper to mod, it came down to the Evo...

As for a daily driver, I would agree that the GTO is a lot more comfortable. Mainly due to the stiff a$$ suspension on the Evo. If I wanted a little more confort, I would probably have opted for the STi. Hell, the STI LE would be a good consideration when it comes out.

Everyone has something different they are looking for in their car. I wanted a 4 door , well rounded car. I was willing to give up some comfort (altho I did get the leather/sunroof package) for razor sharp handling. That's something I'm willing to put up with. Thank goodness there are so many different types of cars to suit all our needs...

Where is the proof???? CodySS said this same crap and all kinds of crickets came out when I asked him for proof. Show me where a stock F-body pulled a .91 on a skid pad(the SLP options I still consider stock).


Steve-o, lets see some pics of your car. Since all you can do is dish out insults because you lack any intelligence. Do you notice anybody else throwing out insults like you, kind of sad really. Also, I bet there are more stock EVOs and STIs that run high 12s then stock GTOs. So why are GTOs so impressive? They have an awesome motor, that is it.

You say F-Bodies can be fast in a straight line?? They are fast in a straight line, even stock they will destroy your Evo from anything other than a dig, which you can only keep up in due to the AWD launch. We're talking buslenths in an Evo vs. LS1 from a roll, get a clue.

Second, an Evo or STI will not destroy an F-Body in Auto-X, especially with the right mods. What makes your STI so special that you give the impression that it can outhandle anything on 4 wheels?? Obviously any car car be outfitted with larger wheels and performance tires, and it only weighs a couple hundred pounds less than an F-Body, which is pathetic considering an LS1 engine is over twice as big and all the chassis components are beefier. A WS6 Firebird, such as mine, with suspension upgrades will more than keep up with an STI or Evo. Take your cocky ricer attitude and jam it

Buddy you are an idiot. All the GTO has is an "awesome motor"?? I guess a best in class interior, independent rear suspension, excellent chassis, and classy styling don't account for anything?? Nothing intelligent... only insults. You have no numbers or anything to prove that an f-body could keep up with an STI or EVO in auto-x or on a road course. GTOs are sad for 400hp, the SRT-8s are tons better and they weigh more and only have 25 horsepower more, plus they handle better and have an even better interior. Face it dude GTOs, were a sad pathetic half-hearted attempt by GM, maybe thats why they are such big sellers.

really? Ive raced plenty of LS1s and LS2s from a roll and won... not all AWD cars suck at racing from a roll. I will say that a stock evo/sti from a roll will definately loose to an ls1(ss, vette, etc) but not ALL AWD cars are slow.
