SS vs SVT Lightning???

Hey everyone, im not very familiar with lightnings but i know they are really fast when hooked up. This kid rolls up last night to me and wants to run my balt, so for kicks i do it. The first run he got me out the hole and was walking me slowly id say he put 1 1/2 cars on me. When we slow down my car starts making a noise and i look down and my ebrake was almost all the way up. So i tell him lets go again...this time he lets his two friends out for the weight reduction lol and this time i let the ebrake down and pull him out of the hole, so im watching my mirror just waiting for him to reel me back in...and i wait and i wait...before i know i put 2 1/2 lengths on him. He said the stock ones run on 8psi and his was running at 12psi. I know it had intake and exhaust for sure. And Jack Roush himself signed the truck for some reason. Just figured id share with you guys i was really excited about beating that thing.

i think its more so the supercharger than the actual engine but i would swear to it that my car is way slower in the summer but i mean in all reality heat kills power so if ur bringin in 105* temps in the summer as opposed to say 35 40* temps in winter here in FL then yeah its going to be a huge differnce...as a SS/SC owner i think i should just move to michigan and be done with it! florida.

the 2nd gen one were pretty fast. it would be pretty close to what the cobalt ss sc & tc will run. its probably all about the driver.

mid 5's to 60 and high 13s in 1/4 mile.

For power freaks, the good news is the new Lightning has a shorter final drive -- 3.73:1 vs. 3.55:1 -- and that means acceleration times have improved dramatically. Sprints to 60 mph now take 5.2 seconds, 0.6 second quicker than in the previous Lightning. The quarter-mile now whooshes by in an amazing 13.8 seconds at 104 mph.

yeah its the truth...driving my car s2 last september to january was like driving two different cars...i know it ran better cuz with two fat guys in my car i spun all the way through 2nd girl into third...right now with even more done a better tune and more power it will just barely spin going into 2nd.

What year Lightning was it? Most of the 2000 and newer ones run around 14.0-14.1 @ 99-100 mph around here.

lol i'm sorry but i don't believe this for one second... that lightening should have blown you away no questions asked.... unless he missed his shifts in all gears and the driver wasn't racing... lol but sorry theres no way you win against this truck....

i guess if it was like a 93 when they had 5.8 L Windsor FI V8 that was putting 240 hp, but when they switched engines in 99 to the 5.4 L supercharged Triton V8 and were putting out like 360 hp and then in 2001 when the 5.4 supercharged triton engine got beefed up a bit and was putting out ike 380... there is no way you beat it

Well this is sort of a ackward story. I hang around alot of Lightning guys being they have alot of good info about Supercharged F150s. But something about him running "12" psi doesnt sound right. With a torque converter, slicks and smaller pulley and some guys have been able to hit 12's.

I dont see a FWD taking a L from a Dig, especially if its making more boost over stock, they are very very easy to make fast.

Yeah they're pretty fast...not srt-10 fast but fast enough. Jack Roush signed the inside of my header.

Why would roush sign all the SVT stuff? He isnt affiliated with SVT IIRC. That would be like Steve Saleen Signing SVT stuff.

Um...I don't think so. Isn't svt an internal division whereas roush is an external company (sort of like a 2nd party). Whereas ford sort of annexed shelby for the latest mustangs. I have no clue, but I'm fairly certain roush has nothing to do with svts in their stock form.
