ss vs WS6

so...i raced a ws6 trans am last night. we raced 4 different times. im waiting for him to post the videos on his facebook. hopefully he will post all four vids.

WS6 all stock, automatic
08 ss/tc- dejon CP, dejon SRI, stock tune

1st race 40mph roll- i was in 3rd gear (im a ******* i know) he put too many car length on me to count. started to chase him down but he ended up letting off he said

2nd race. dig- once again, he put too many car lengths on me to count. i missed third gear as well

3rd race 40mph roll- i was in 2nd gear this time. beat him by a few lengths. not really sure how many.

4th race 40mph roll- 2nd gear again and brake boosted. put maybe a car length on him then he got up to where i only had half a length on him. i missed 5th this time and we left off right after that. had half a length on him when i missed 5th.

this is the first time i've really raced my car that hard. was really suprised by the results. wasn't sure i really stood a chance against a ws6. i guess i need some more practice in my car shifting gears. i usually don't miss gears but of course i did when it matters. it was fun and the guy in the TA was really cool. i will post a link to the vids when he post them up. if he ever doesn. chinelli3589 was there. he can vouch for the races

waiting on some more funds to get a DP and then im getting it tuned. still on the fence about HP or trifecta though. leaning more towards trifecta. but i have a guy that said he would give me a damn good deal on a HP tune.

i will be calling him once i get my tune though. i will run him again for sure.

slp is a jersey based company that makes some sick f-body parts and for firebirds G8's and now the new camaro builds limited perduction cars for gm that retain the gm warenty and make alot more power. the camaro they are building now is supose to keep with the lingenfelter one and still keeps the factory warenty

They were responsible for converting z28s to SS as well. Every SS 4th gen went to SLPs factory.

SLP doesnt have a very good name around Fbody owners. My SLP lid fits like ****, and their headers are known for having the worst ground clearance of all makes. Plus most of their parts are overpriced, a Skip Shift eliminator for $35 that is basically a resitor on a connector.

LT1s stock usually run around a 14 flat. My 93 auto Z28 with 3.23s had intake, tune, headers, exhaust, 2800 stall and tune with good tires ran a 12.8 with 156k miles.

Good runs, sounds like you ran a LT1 though. Pretty sure no Cobalt on stock tune is gonna hang with a LS1 even from a roll. Not bashing ya man, you still beat a V8 which is impressive.

Your point being?
Its not like I come in every v8 thread and say its impossible. In fact I really didn't have much to say for this thread until now lol. Just kinda curious what you meant.
Because I read all of the war stories while I sit at work I'm rather proud of my lil 4cyl brethren when they knock off a bigger car.

No. All LS1s sucked air from the front. The factory air box lid is low and made for silence, not power. A lid is basically the first mod you do on an LS1, the aftermarket lid replaces the stock lid, looks a ton better, and gives you 10 to 15whp.

And BTW. An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1. Aside from that you could option things like a shifter, exhaust and blackwing lid for SS and Ws6, an ls1 z28 runs the same as an SS as a Formula as a TA as a WS6 TA.

This is an SLP lid. It fits like ass.
