I wish 10-15whp

Although as stated most SLP products are crap fitment, overpriced and generally much worse than their aftermarket counterparts.

10 to 15whp is generous but Ive personally seen 1 12whp and 1 15whp gain and only 1 9whp gain. I live in college town with alot of buddies at the schools autotech program with a dynojet.

Yes they did, the cam was actually smaller in the 01 02s. 01 and 02 are generally better performers but that is a rule of thumb for the poeple who think a ws6 will destroy a Formula or an SS will rape a Z28.

This is an SLP lid. It fits like ass.
Actually all LS1's made after 200X used LS6 blocks and LS6 intake manifolds (with FYI outflow LS2 intake manifolds significantly, so yea, its a decent mod). Off the top of my head though, idk what they put this LS1 into other than my GTO (nothing?)

edit: **** someone beat me to it

WTF is wrong with that so called cammed LS1? Are the numbers right in that vid? (360/300 for the balt) Because that balt looked like it was 400+ to the wheels with what it did to that car.

I'm with the others on the stock tune TC pulling, just doesn't sound right unless I am missing something and a couple bolt ons make a big difference on these cars with out a tune. Is that correct? Because I know a tune is what makes the big HP difference...

No they didnt. 15% of 01s and 25% of 02s got the block, which offers no hp over an LS1 block. LS6 intakes are great for stock to 425whp but only are worth 10whp or so on a stock motor. And if you read one of the later post, I stated it was just a rule of thumb. 99% of all ls1s 97 to 04 regardless of tranny dyno withing 40whp of each other, which over the time and changes isn't a huge spread.

alright. the guy only posted three of the videos. he wouldn't post the one where i beat him by a couple car lengths.

they are in conjuntion with my oringial post descriptions of the races except for the last one. that was the last race we raced. he decided to skip the third race.

don't know if this link will work or not. u can try. if it doesn't, let me know and i will just delete it.

you sure about that?
I thought they discontinued the LS1 block after like 2003 or 2004 and only used the LS6 block.

I never said the LS6 block was going to make more power, but its still a slightly better designed block. Just sayin not all LS1s are the same

Yes. In 03/04 Vettes and 04 GTOs they had LS6 blocks, but the only major differance is bigger oil passages. No they arnt all the same, the 97/98s were there own, 99 and 00, 01 and 02, 03 and 04, but they all dyno very close to each other.

That Youtube link looks exactly right for a stock tune TC... Are you saying you made up 3-4 car lengths compared to that run? He obviously had a passenger, did you have one as well?

yeah. he has a passenger and i had my wife with me. and yes the race between the 2nd race and the third race on that video, he decided not to post. i beat him by at least 2 car lengths in that race and he didn't want to show it apparently.
