Well tonight I was hanging out where I use to work talking to my old co-workers when I see a white 350 z revving up at me. Well I decided what the hell I'll follow him. I followed him to the bottom of a hill where it turns into a highway. I could hear him gear down to I say about 3rd gear or so. I put mine in 3rd caught up near him about 1 car behind and he got the jump. I was thinking to myself no way I can beat him now that he's got the jump on me. I started pulling a tad bit in third, actually quite a bit I was right beside him I shifted to 4th then I pulled him badly. All in All we hit about 100 and I had him by 3 cars. He pulled over and was very nice about it, said he was actually a ex cobalt ss/sc owner himself. He asked my mods and I asked him and he said it had a CAI with a cat back, sounded very very nice too.

Summary: I beat a 350z with a CAI and a catback by three cars, very nice guy as well.

 

good job man. those things are no joke.

 

Thats what I was thinking, I thought I would lose and was in amazement whenever I beat him.

I beat a 350z with full exhaust and a 75 shot when I had a 2.6" and no meth. Zs are not fast man.
From a stop they are a little faster.

I could have probably took him by more if he had not got the jump that he had, with the jump and time it took me to pass him I was impressed with what I done.

u say u put ur car in 4th gear and u raced to a 100mph?

my 3 gear dose 111mph why would u shift in 4th at only a 100?

it was i think 2003 6 speed hard top.....and i have raced one ......

they feel faster than a cobalt stock for stock to me,,mabey because of a 6 speed ...but after getting a stage 2 on i would say that cobalt could be faster but not much at all




i raced a 6 speed hardtop he had an CAI and i was stock with a 240lb passanger

0-120km/h he had an 1.5cars on me

at least im not the only one who doesnt think a cobalt can take a z

 

they feel faster b/c they have a nice low end torque feel that the cobalts tend to lack, but once we are in the higher rpms we pull away...

 

i still think that cobalt owner are little over board with ss/sc

i have driven fatser and slower cars ..... cobalt is a nice car and i think that cobalt is missing one gear, should have had been 6 speed gears are to long that the problem

i think most od the kills here are because other driver suck with manual tranny

local guy witha 05 mustang gt coupe with just a CAI did 13.2@??? stock tires and all

350z i have seen it run 13.9@??? bone stock....

Well heres another believer...I have raced three z's and beat all of them. One was an auto convertable that was easy from a dig. 2nd was a manual with exhaust and intake 3 roll races i came out ahead each time. 3rd was a stock manual from a dig and he started out ahead due to my less than perfect launch but by third gear he was at my back bumper.

 

yea stock for stock i think the 350z is faster but with stage 2 it should be an easy kill .. anyway congrats on the kill

 

i dunno guys. everyone races thm and claims to win but i need to see a video of it. preferably from the z so i know he is trying. i mean stock for stock

 

Reason I shifted to 4th early is that I do not like to put a ton of strain on my power train....though if there is any doubt let it be, no point in arguing over the internet about a kill, just figured I would share my story.

I wish I could have provided you guys with video, but it was just one of those things that happend, plus I don't have a video camera so that wouldn't be of any thought anyways.

 

yea any way with the mods in ur sig your deff quicker then a 350z just stock and stock i think the z is quicker

 

May be, I'm not really sure, as stated I didn't even think I would beat him...I am not that familiar with 350z just figured it would be a kind fair race. I was very happy that I won though, just didn't expect it.

 

I raped a Z a few weeks ago... literally RAPED. I have the videos... lemme find them.

 

I would enjoy seeing that. I need to buy a video camera, so if I ever do run into him again I can get it on video.
