I should also note that my car gets a lot of attention from the"Z" crowd because of my Opel emblems. Actually it's not really my emblems as much as it is THEIR lack of knowledge.

They seem to think that my Opel emblem is some Really cool Nissan Z logo that they haven't seen yet, and think I am trying to POSE as a Z. Tisk, Tisk! If it WAS a Z logo, don't you think they would have seen it on a Z before?

At shows I constantly have to explain how it is not a Nissan Z emblem to Z owners. I get the Question "Sweet Z emblem, where did you get it". Answer: "It's actually a lightning bolt and it's the logo from Opel. You can order it at a GM dealership. Good Guess though."

I was at a gas station on Saturday night and when I left there were about 6 z's and a few other G35's filling up and they were all BSing with each other, and when I started up to leave, they all remarked at how my exhaust rumbled, and were talking about what kind of car it was. Needless to say NONE of them guessed Cobalt, and they all seemed to be impressed. They had some cool looking cars though.

^^^Yeah, that seems kinda weird to me too. It would be cool to put some Vette logos on my car and then people might think it's a "mini-vette"

from personal experience, I hate the Chevy logo. the bow-tie just doesn't do it for me. that's why i'm doing opel logo's too.

I believe that's why stevo does it too. I just can't stand the bow-tie or "SS" on my car. right now my car is completely debadged aside from the chevy logo's on the wheels and steering wheel. and i can't wait to get those off!

nobody can mess with the opel lightning bolt

If you think about what those badges are on the car, they are just advertisements anyways. They don't badge them so you know what you are driving, they badge them so that other people will see you car on the road, and be able to read what it is in case they like it.

I think the Chevy Bowtie is horribly ugly, and never wanted it on my car to begin with. I took off EVERY badge that came on the car, from bumper to bumper, and even the wheels and steering wheel. I replaced everything that was a bowtie with a Blitz (Opel Logo). I like that logo in general, and liked the looks of it as a replacement for the Bowtie.

I also replaced the other logo's on the trunk with the SUPERCHARGED script from the Cadillac DTS-V.

It is still a General Motors logo, and is sort of fitting given our German Motors.

You could put whatever logo you want on what ever car you want. It fits under the classification of RICE, which is something that I am fully aware of and comfortable with. I view my car as a form of RICE, and am actually proud of what I have done to it.

Did the Logo's help anything? No, not performance wise. But the busloads of people who ask me about my car, and look at it on the road and in parking lots makes it fun.

There are even auto manufacturers out there that make the same exact car, and then slap a different logo on it to call it something else to beef up their brand image. I think they are called Pontiac, Lexus, Infiniti, etc.

When I started building my car, I had a few ideas of what I wanted it to look like. So far I have achieved most of them, and I am satisfied. Truly the only thing that bothers me about my car is my annoying exhaust leak I have from the manifold.

Ahh Rice!

Ever notice the Vette is the only Chevy that doesn't come badged with hideous Bowties? They hide them in the flags to atleast make them less visible.

There have been a few people to copy me on that. Just make sure you buy the GM badges and not the knockoffs.

Where have you seen a supercharged Cadillac DTS, let alone a DTS-V? Do you mean a CTS? Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I've never heard of such a car. If such a car exists, do you have any pics? I'm curious.

Random trivia question: Does anyone know where the name "Chevrolet" and the bowtie logo came from without looking it up? Hint: it's not really a bowtie.

how is the mazdaspeed protege ricey? it barely looks that different than the regular protege, handles like a dream for a front wheel drive car, and makes some dcent power. So it can't mod for **** cause it has toothpicks for rods...that doesn't make it rice...

Although I mostly agree, I think many Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus enthusiasts would definitely categorize the Corvette as "just a Chevy." But they are usually pompous ********, so I guess you're right.

Your car would probably be a lot nicer and more accepted, *IMO* if you put some Opel parts on your car, not just badging.

Where ever one of you posts, the other is there shortly after.

Don't worry about BLURPLESS. He's just butt hurt because he's sick of all the Gay jokes. I fucked him once in the ass, but I didn't like it, and he can't stand the rejection.

I guess I could always Badge my car as a FIAT, since our engines are supposedly made in a FIAT plant. But that's not my preference. I don't think that there are any OPEL parts that really go well on our cars. I was considering swapping out my gauges for the OPEL ones, but then the boost gauge would no longer match. I don't see how any of it was an attempt to make my car nicer, just my preference.

My car does not have acceptance issues that I percieve. Seems like a lot of people copy what I do, so it must be alright.

i really don't mean to be an ass or anything and i don't think the ss/sc is very ricey, but it has a bigger, more rediculous stock wing than all of those LOL.

I guess, but it's not really that easy to call a domestic car "rice." The term itself implies an import, correct?

I hate to be an Ass about it, but you must be ignorant, either that or they make cars in Phoenix Arizona that they don't make for the rest of the world.

The DTS-v had a 4.4L Supercharged motor making about 470hp. The CTS-V was not supercharged and came with 5.7 and 6.0L engines depending on the year.

Google it. It looks JUST like the DTS! It's uncanny!

Oh, ok that makes a little more sense. Aren't the supercharged badges on those things way bigger than those on our cars?

OH god, I brought up the Corvette. This makes me angry! *turns green and enraged*

Some people must have something up their butt that sends a shock to their taint everytime someone does something. I wasn't even making fun of the corvette, I was praising the fact that they do not use the bowtie, so that it stands out on its own.

And the Pontiac G5 is a Cobalt. So they changed the logo, Vin codes and a few cosmetics. ****, the only thing I didn't change was my VIN, but I COULD with HPTUNERS if I wanted to.

eh. the g5 is actually quite different if you have driven both...and the changes are with pontiac stuff. You bought a bunch of aftermarket stuff that has nothing to do with opel, and threw some opel badges on there. type r ftl.

I think you might have been fooled by someone like you who puts other car's badges on their car. I thought maybe you lived in Australia or Europe or something where they have different cars then us, but I guarantee you there is no such thing as a DTS-V. I think the AZ heat is messin with your head. You know the DTS is FWD right? Can you imagine a 470 hp FWD Caddy?

Funny how you just proved to yourself why putting random badges on your car is not a good idea--It confuses people who actually know cars.

Being a Mustang owner, you should watch what you say about "fake" hood scoops. The previous gen. 'Stangs were the kings of cosmetic hood scoops AND door scoops.

Although I don't like the SS/SC wing, I cannot say with authority that it is useless. No one has proven this. It may only be useful in 2% of total driving situations, but that doesn't mean it's useless. Maybe we should contact Mythbusters on this topic.

Gotta love what my thread for racing a 350z turned out to be. Another argument just like all of cobaltss.net seems to be. Oh well, I mean damn't quit talking about rice anyways it gets old after a while.
