STi Tool

White 2006/2007 STi, Gold Rims. Driver looks like he wants to be on the cast of one of those California teen rich bitch shows.

Everytime the guy sees me he either flies past me, cuts me off, rides my ass, or paces me and then takes off trying to flex his muscle. The first time I ever saw him he pulled up next to me, laughed, and then took off.

Yesterday (630ish-p.m.) I pass him on my way into town (he was going the opposite way), he went out of his way to turn at the next street and come around the block to find me. I'm still heading in to town, I get to the redlight before I turn on to our main strip when I realize all of this as he crosses the intersection in front of me with his head on a very determined swivel. And when he caught my car he slowed down. The whole way around the strip he was weaving in and out of traffic, always in little bursts to try and show off his acceleration ability. He would slow down and give himself running room and then gun it. We get on the other side of the strip at a stop sign -- loooong straight, about a mile with a readlight that, should you hit it, splits the straight into almost an exact quarter mile left on the straight (short by maybe a few hundred feet). We pull out from the stop sign, he guns it, we make our way through what little traffic there is and as fate would have it we hit the redlight. There we are, at a redlight, with an empty 1/4 mile in front of us. No cars -- I mean, seriously I couldn't have asked for a better setup, no one was even pulling off side roads -- it was my destiny. We pull up to the redlight, he looks at me through his Oakley sunglasses and shakes his head. I stare at him with a blank expression, he looks forward (apparently he can't look at the people in the eye he's been harrassing for the past 2 weeks). He looks back over and asks if I had anything done. I simply reply......."yep". He shakes his head again and looks forward. The sunlight was glaring so we couldn't see the opposing light for warning of our green light. I left off the brake and waited. The light turned green and I went for it. We both had lazy starts since we couldn't see the other light, but I did hear him take it up a bit before it turned. He pulled his back bumper to my front, but my 7000K redline overcame once again in 2nd as he shifted I was still pulling and increasing RPM and began gaining. I hit third and started pulling, my front was now at his door, and then my door at his, the next thing I know I'm ahead by a nose, my passenger A-pillar in front of his.... how do I know you ask? Because it's at this moment I took the time to look over and wave bye He looked over slammed on the brakes and turned off. Another tool shut up by the balt.

Shitty driver, yes. Would have beaten me in an actual 1/4 with a better launch by a better driver, most likely. Did it still feel good to shut up this tool........hell yes

I keep my vBgarage pretty up-to-date. But the short list is: exhaust, intake, Stage 2 w/2.9... and the Eagle F1 tires have been helping a little too.

hell yeah, I love these tires. And my upcoming mods are: header/dp combo from ZZP, heat exhanger and dual pass. Then a tune.

i had the zzp and the vibrant. personally i went with the 2.5 header dp and it pulls harder then i had with the vibrant 3" header/dp to 2.5 exhaust.

i personally think the 3" is a tad to big for our cars, but others will argue

yeah I plan on going with the 2.5, I have the GMPP exhaust so that is only 2.25, anything bigger and I think I'd have problems.

Yeah, we have plenty of people to waste gas on in Lebanon, I know that feeling. Try having a Ford tempo try and go on you, or a taurus. I had a van race me one time...lol.

haha, did your buddy ever get to race him? yes, they tend to be in total disbelief and don't want to even face the music. when i lose, I pull up and congratulate.... tool bags, well, they don't....lol.

Nice, beautiful kill. I work with a guy who drives an 06 STI and also believes it's the equivalent of GOD on wheels. He was pissed when I showed him that the Cobalt SS Turbo smoked the STI laptime on the Nordschleife.

V6's are nice. I'm trying to set myself up for a family, so this fall i may be selling the 'balt and getting a used S4 (cuz they have 4 doors and still very tunable). They have a v6 biturbo. should sound nice.

My brother-in-law has an 04 STi that I run every once in a while. He usually eats my face out of the hole but he stops pulling once I manage to get out of first. If he bogs though, I have a good chance. Those things are great to go up against for launching practice. You won't win from a dig unless you're modded to hell, but if you can stop them from pulling away you're doing pretty good.

I did that to a wrx the other night. dude would only race people from digs so he could embarrass them. They'd race for 5 feet and he'd be that far ahead they'd give up. Well I finally got my chance and my launching has improved 200% since my track visit. I stopped him dead at his rear bumper in 1st and pulled him in second. I don't think he was happy about that. But this guy in the STi didn't launch it hard like the guy in the WRX did.

Nice job man! Its nice to see cobys put them boys in their place. I haven't had a chance to run a wrx/sti yet. I ran an Evo on the highway and pulled from it but none from a dig. There was a guy at the dealership I worked at, had a wrx with a turbo-back, that was it. He beat the **** out of that car, well over 100k, 2nd stock turbo, he auto-xed it. Im sure he could drive, he thought it was the fastest thing out there. Claimed it could run 12s in the 1/4 but he never dragged it. I always wanted to run him just to shut him up. He always was saying how shitty the cobalts were.

Let me know if you want to get to the track again sometime. You know I'm up for it.

ROFLcopter. A Stage 2 alone would beat him, not to mention something that REALLY ran 12's

Yeah... cracked me up pretty good. I asked him once what he thought it would run. He either said high 12s or high 13s. Either way, not happening. I'm sure he would have be at the 1/8th, AT THE MOST, but after that, cya. He was at the track the one time I was up, but didn't bring up his wrx, puss.

My buddy from up here at school went the 2nd time I went up to the track. He has a '04 I believe wrx with a 3" turbo back and a Cobb stage 2 tune. I thought it would be faster than that. I think his best was 14.3-14.5 I believe. He wasn't launching it hard at all though, 2.1-2.2 60's.

I would hope your header/dp atleast gets you even with me. How pissed off you gonna be if I still walk from ya on the top end. I'm sure with the header/dp and a h/e you should be damn even, if not pullin on me with the header over me.

You need to get your damn slip on the 100 mph club so we can have 3 ss/sc's in a row man.

Yea, on the street AWD is great because most races here in our town are about 1/8th mile races. It was nice you got a chance to go alost a 1/4th. I personally feel with a good driver STis are a bitch to beat. If there stock though and you can drive balts like us with good mods there going down for sure.

My friend has an 05 STi. Turbo back, Downpipe, Clutch/Flywheel, some suspension mods and a tune. He put down some good numbers. From a dig with a perfect launch on my part he pulls 1 and 2. When I hit 3 I'm right there by his door and by 90mph I'm dead even. I think he traps at like 104 and I trap at 108. So its always a close race. From a roll I slowly pull him.

Yeah, people that know how to launch AWD cars can pull pretty far before you can even get into gear. He should be able to launch at 3grand no problem. I've even seen Evos launch at or near redline and pull bus-lengths
