HOLLY WASTE OF MONEY BATMAN!!!!
So like, can you just not live without a 370z because there are at least 3 other cars out there from the top of my head that are 100% faster, better in every way then a 370z... and their all American and right at or under $50,000 brand new 2009/2010 models.
2010 SS Camaro
2010 Mustang GT
2009 Corvette C6 (ls3 < BEAST OF A MOTOR, add $3,000 worth of mods and you will beat 95% of the cars out there)
2010 GT500

Bottom line...its my money to waste. Personally i think the cobalts r a waste of money...i wasted $6000 in parts in my cobalt and still not fast. With about $10,000 into this car i can go from 332hp stock to the crank....to 1000whp.

2010 ford taurus sho naw dude someone is going to buy every car. I mean everyone knows VW and Chryslers are **** cars and you still see those on the streets.
The Z car has a long history. Although I dont like the look, its a very well engineered car. look how well the 350 did.

Even when the Canadian dollar is equal to the USD, the cars are still notably more expensive in Canada.

i dont like camaro's, i could beat mustang gt's with my set up on my ss/sc so **** them, to slow/to heavy. Corvette r nice however the insurence is way higher. As for the gt500...to many of them around here. Plus im getting sick of american cars and chevy cars since they break all the time. Plus gm is fucked so screw that...i waited 2 months for a banjo bolt...1 ******* bolt and i still didnt get it because gm is fucked.

even though the HP may be possible (i have my doubts) for that amount of $$, you are gonna need a slew of other stuff to handle that.
as a side note, its funny u said "wasted" money on the cobalt when u posted a race against one that didn't exactly go your way.
still a nice car, but dont get a big head....................

I beg to differ. The 370z is a great handling, well put together, well designed performance car and he's no idiot for buying one. Maybe he doesn't care that he doesn't beat 90% of the cars out there. It'd be my 1st pic too. Not putting down the other ones, just saying it's a good choice.
Nice car, good choice.

Nice car man, I know a guy with one identical to it lol.
On a side note, I have put like a grand or two into my car and I'm probably sitting only like 10-15whp less than yours was. I think your tune was a little off.
Anyways, do they have an exhaust out for that yet? I looked at my buddies and the piping in the back is TINY!!! Get that addressed asap to make it sound even sexier and im sure open it up a bit!
Oh one more thing, i have nitrogen in my tires and i dropped the pressure and refilled with air and havent had any problems. And that was over a year ago lol

with that logic, i could put 10k in a chevette and make 1000hp.

I don't care where you read that that car can make 1000rwhp on $10,000 but they are smoking crack. 1000rwhp isn't an easy feat especially when starting with a NA V6. Plus you have fuel system, rearend, transmission, tuning, ect.
I have over $10,000 in my car and I'm not even close to 1000rwhp.
I honestly don't even know if a GT500 can make a 1000rwhp with $10,000. I think it could but it would be close.

As for my best time...never got anything better then a 13.836 @ 109mph. 60' was 2.3 so thats why my times werent any better. My cobalt was defently capable of low 13's high 12's with a good driver but like i said i wasted to much money in it and wasnt happy with it. Wanted something else...i wanted a 350z before i even got a cobalt but couldnt afford it. Now i can and now the 370z r out so thats what i got. And its a hell of alot faster then the cobalt was and its still stock.
+1 Dude

snake dude you'll get so many jealous noobs on here saying your car choice is ****. But guess what, they still drive a cobalt. Im not into drag racing but I'm sure you'll have lots of fun on the 370. With the new v6 there should be more room for big power over a cobalt.

Stage 4 twin turbo = $9000 = 900hp. Thats what the kit makes in the car...thats not including intake, exhaust, header, highflow cat and other mods...of course the engine will have to be built cuz it can only handle 650hp but with alot of searching and alot of deals + i get military discounts at mostly every store...the cost wouldnt be much more then $10,000-12,000. I'm not saying im going to do that im just saying its possible. Once i come back from afghanistan in 2011 ill be ordering Stage 1 or 2...stage 1 is 500hp and 2 is 625. And i seen a few 350z with twin turbo at 1000hp so getting a 370z at 1000 isnt impossible
i wasted the money in MY cobalt...the ss/sc cars suck for power:money ratio. The SS/TC are amazing...even with just a tune. I do like cobalts but i wasnt happy with mine after i was finished with it.

read what i said...i never said i am going to hit 1000hp...i really dont feel like spending the money on a DD. I'm going to put in a stage 1 or 2 twin turbo...1000hp is stage 4 + bolt ons + built engine. But thanks for the comment

The new Mustang GTs run LOW 13's, too, so the Z is not faster than it. However, the 370 is a very nice car and handles very well. Also, a $50k car in Canadian is not apples-to-apples to a $50k car US, either.
Even when the Canadian dollar is equal to the USD, the cars are still notably more expensive in Canada.

In only 4.9 seconds, the Mustang GT is moving at a speed of 60 mph. Compared with last year's Bullitt, a car that donated its more potent powertrain and rear axle to the 2010 GT, that time represents a 0.1-second improvement, in other words, the quickest sprint Motor Trend has ever coaxed out of a stock Mustang GT. Less than nine ticks later, at 13.5 seconds, the GT eclipses the quarter mile at a speed of 104.2 mph
the Z rips to 60 in just 4.7 ticks on its way to a quarter-mile run of 13.3 at 105.7
Motor Trend says.....yep, faster than the 2010 Ford Mustang GT.
Real world, it's a drivers race.
Is it really any surprise though, 315hp Mustang (3,572 curb weight) vs. 332hp 370Z (3,355 curb weight). That's a 17hp and 200lbs advantage.

maybe u should actualy come to the track i race at and see for yourself before you call bs because whether or not you believe me, i dont care...it happend and now you look like a complete retard. I already made a post in the drag race section and got slips to prove that i've raced and beat a 89 mustang with DR, 75shot of nitrous, intake and exhaust...dont think he sprayed though. Then when i came back around the lined me up with a mustang gt. beat him. Then let the car cool down and raced a mustang gt with every part including engine, supercharger and body kit of the saleen...he even had other bolt ons...him and his friends just dynoed that day...car hit 480whp. He missed 2nd gear which let me win. Heres his car and heres the time slip. Like i said he missed 2nd but that doesnt matter...he has 200whp more then me, not to mention i just installed header, 3" dp and 3" exhaust without changing the tune...afr was all over the place that night. I'm on the right... his was 13.887...i was 13.865 with a 2.4 60'. Now of course u r going to say "oh he didnt know how to drive"....Well i raced 3 mustangs that night and beat them all...did they all not know how to drive? maybe...but i can tell you this...i could not launch the cobalt for the life of me...2.4' is sad.
still makes me laugh when i think about the poor guy i was lined up next to (a stock GT)

Good stuff!
I'd like to see what the GT500 can do, I would have to do some research, but I believe it may be the highest hp stock Mustang to date, and likely the fastest in the 1/4 mile as well.
I like both cars (Mustangs and Z's), but I'd take a 370Z over a Mustang GT any day...GT500 would be a different story.

the night i raced the 89 mustang and then the mustang gt and then the mustang gt (saleen)...right after i raced those 3 in a row... i was in line with a mustang gt500 supersnake with intake and exhaust. i wanted to see how bad he was going to rape my cobalt but they ended up pairing me up with a civic...i was rather pissed..lol. I thought about getting a mustang but after doing research...they r just to heavy and there is way to many mustangs in edmonton. There is only 1 other 370z and maybe a dozen 350z that i know of here in edmonton. So i wanted something different. Like damn...there is even 2 lambo galardo's here in edmonton.

To everyone bashing him on the "waste" for $50k+... This is CANADA. Exchange rate aside, we still pay more for everything. Even when our dollar was ABOVE yours we were still paying more for cars. A loaded SS/TC in Canada goes for $28-29K with delivery and taxes.

thank you...no one really understands that, Just like my 07 SS/SC cost $26,000 when down in the states its like 3-5,000 cheaper.

370z's run low 13's stock. all you've done is hate on his car simply because it's "not-american". i have news for you, my moms toyota camry is more american than your cobalt. matter of fact, 5 out of the top 10 american-made cars are imports. #1 spot given to the toyota camry. you drive a freakin' cobalt and are talking **** about a 370z? wow, the nuthuggery is strong w/ this one. matter of fact, i remember you talking the same **** in another 370z thread. jealous much?
