tbandit vs big turbo 02 wrx

so if you guys remember my old thread of me vs my friends subie we did a rerace tonight. he apparently blew his motor and turbo a little bit after our race so know he has a new motor and new 16g turbo and hes still got basic bolt ons exhaust intake tune ect.. we did 4 races 3 40 rolls and one 60 but im only posting 2 of the vids. the other two my buddy started the camera to late and there just bad. also srry for the video quality its from his phone the guys in the wrx were suppose to film but they forgot to.

this was the second 40 roll. i spin badly and throw it into 3rd early to catch traction and real him in.

and heres a vid of me racing a 04 evo with boltons and big turbo from a dig back in august. my buddy filming did a horrible job with the video he pointed it to the side way too late but u get the picture.

Nice races man. But a 16g pretty small turbo...but I guess its a lot bigger than the stock tiny one!

Im still trying to get my friend to send me the video of me racing another friends old 18g wrx on E85 back when I was on meth, but ive been trying to get ahold of the vid for a year so....

Its all good man. I have some vids that just look like headlights chasing taillights lol

And for turbo size for the wrx's it kinda goes in order like this: stock 13t (i think), STi VF39 or VF43 or other variants, 16g, 18g, 20g, then you have the DOM series for the guys wanting serious power. Most guys stick to those turbos since they are cheap, but some guys actually shell out the cash more up to date turbos

Good runs, a GT35 would be a big turbo

Nice runs. Like everyone has said, a 16g is not really a big turbo. A 16g vs the sti's stock ihi vf39 is a toss up. A big turbo for a wrx would be something like a 30r/35r etc. Even a 20g isn't really too big. IIRC a 16g will be limited to 320-330whp on a 2.0l wrx max.

I didn't even see the evo. . . and if it was a turbo swapped evo, I highly doubt an m62 redline would keep up. You're talkin' an easy 350+++awhp. Throwin' around the term big turbo it seems like. No offense.

I've learned to underestimate anything that isn't a cobalt here. Otherwise, you are a fanboy without a clue

Oh I know it's not everyone. But, can you imagine what would happen in here if I said, "that evo doesn't have a big turbo." It would be blasphemy.

ok now the evo is no slouch from what ive been told. its basically lots of boltons but apparently with the size of his turbo and the 3inch exhaust he has alot of lagg. once he gets its more dialed in it will be better but ya i out launched him :-) it was closer from a 60 roll were he diddnt have alot of lagg but i still got him by about half a car. heres some pics of his engine bay.

and heres the vid as we were driving to the race spot. as u can tell by me talking i thought i was gunna lose.

When he gets it dialed in it should be a beast. My friends evo is a 2.3 stroker and on stock turbo spiking 28psi on E85 it went 12.1 @117 with issues going into 3rd. On the 6262 he only got to dyno it on WG which is 15psi and it layed down 398whp. Hoping for 650+ this summer on 30psi.

Looks like a clean evo though for sure
