took the 300ZX to a 1/4 mile track
I posted this in drag racing but not sure if the usual war stories crowd goes there so I'll post it here too.
I only got 2 passes in. First pass I had to much air in the tires and just spun. 2nd pass was a 12.776 @ 111mph. Almost lost it mid track that pass, scared the **** out of me. The car has way more in it. After that pass I was done for the night

Oh man so many people came over to see what was done to the car after that pass. Took them all by surprise.
The stock pass is my 350Z, the 300ZX was blown up when I bought it, I skipped the stock stage and went directly to modified lol. This is its best pass to date and it definitely isn't all she has. It was my first time taking it to the track with slicks, all my other passes were street tires.
Also the first 1/4 mile I've done on the new engine setup. So there is lots of room for driver improvement and I have some chassis issues to work out it seems. It was pulling me every which way down the track. I'll have the in car video of that pass uploaded soon.

Yeah that is my friends Pathfinder. Well actually his wife's. That thing runs 14.9's believe it or not My first thought when I hit 3rd gear and started going towards the other lane, "oh no I can't hit the Pathfinder she'll kill us both!"
I need to figure out why it was so twitchy. It was pulling left the whole time in 1st and 2nd. 3rd and 4th weren't near as bad. A Z owner recommended unbolting the rear sway bar so I'm going to give that a shot next time.

Unbolting the front sway bar would make sense, but not the rear. The rear sway bar will help control the car from twisting off the line and makes it more stable at higher speeds and in turns.

The camera does it no justice from what friends in the stands tell me lol. It was violently snatching me around until 4th gear.
They said from the outside it was going sideways. I wish I had video from the stands. My butt was puckered. But I'm happy because it ran that 12.7 effortlessly even acting like that so there is room for a good deal of improvement in that time.

Probably be selling the camaro for a cobalt. I lost motivation.
I really don't race enough to justify spending the amount of money I intended to on it.
I don't feel like spending $2k on a rear end, then $2-3k on built trans, then $2-3k on engine ****, etc.
Friend bought my old accord i sold, time to drag that honda ass when i get a cobalt ss.
LNF, of course.
