I don't know what kind of setup you have but I've seen those mustangs in stock form run into the 16 second mark. They are slow.

the v6 camaro with take the 2.2 liter cobalt, automatic or manual, the v6 cobalt takes the v6mustang with a good driver. I have raced both of these scenarios so these facts are true

A V-6 cobalt should beat a V6 camaro or mustang, would wigh less. Now, if only these were made.

You must have been up against a bad driver.

Car and driver quotes new V6 Mustang auto at 6.9 sec

Car and driver quotes 2.2 Cobalt auto at 8.4 sec

Seams like the cobalt would lose to me.
Guess you were talking bout the old stang

Now why would you imply that an auto would be so much slower, that it wouldnt beat the
v6 slowstang. Because im auto and have raced a couple and havent lost to one yet.

Im getting tired of you guys bashing the auto go for a ride in one with an auto, they are not slow trannys. Even when I was stock i cherp 2nd

It's not the 2006+ Mustangs...it's a 2000 V6. There is a difference.

All those V-6 cars are slow (well cept the Grnd National!) They weight also 4000 lbs and have like 200HP. Its all power to weight and they SUCK!

I agree bashing someone cause of the transmission they have is lame but you can't neglect the fact that a manual car losses less power to the wheels than an automatic (stock automatic transmission)...hence, the slower they will be.

I know, and thats why I said they are talking about the old stangs (2004 down) I was showing that the 2.2L can't take the new stang.
And FYI the new stangs started with 2005+

I do know that the autos lose more in the tranny but not so much that its five cars back the auto makes up for most of it with faster shifts. and my tranny shifts very hard for an auto better than any that ive driven.

T-Dawg are you a delivery boy?

And there are SOME Good V-6's. Personally I love the Grand Prix GTP's, they fly with only a few mods. (even without mods)
