As far as the "5 cars"...I don't know about that part. There is more than the transmission type that determines a race (which you probably already know).

to the thread starter, it should be a pretty even race if it is a stick, but the autos in those sucked, so if its an auto you should win.

That is an impressive Dyno run!
there are 2.4's in here running 15.0- 15.3's i would love to see a video of a v6 running a 15 flat, one of my best friends has a 2005 V6 Auto coupe with CAI, exhaust, and i can nudge him out by fender up to 80, after that my vvt kicks in and i can pull away. and at 110 he shuts down, right when the cobalt starts stretching its legs, i love the new mustangs dont get me wrong, but it would be close, and as for the SS/SC, that dude didnt know how to drive. those cars can get LOW 14's stock.

modern racer got a 15.0 in the 1/4 and a 6.6 to 60 with a stock 5 speed and if you read any reviews on the new stang you will definately hear about how horrible the rubber on the standard model is (stock tires are traction t/a's which ironically suck for traction). the pony package models have much better traction and i will try to find you some 14 sec timeslips of stock pony package manuals because i've seen them around, just have to find em.
and your vvt doesn't kick in at 80mph LOL. vvt should start at a specific rpm, not a specific speed. he shuts down at about 110 because the stock v6 is governed at 113 because the stock rubber sucks so much they aren't rated high enough to go past that. one of the things ford did to keep the car farther from gt performance and price.

Wow... the misinformation in this thread is amazing.
First, not only was my 2000 5-speed V6 under 4000lb, it's shipping weight was actually under 3000lb... about 2995lb.
16.5 @ 85... That's a crappy time even for an automatic.
My 2000 5-speed V6 ran a 15.5@90 when it was actually SLOWER than stock (heavier 17x8 rims), even with a crappy 2.331 60'. If it wasn't my first time to the track EVER and I could have launched it then like I can now, it would have been a couple tenths faster still.
So, for a recap... properly driven 5-speed 99-04 V6's run mid-15's or so, and auto's run low 16's. So, compare that to what properly driven 2.2's run, and you have your answer.
