Not sure i spanked one when i was stock but it was from a roll, but i believe that they are all wheel drive so it may be a good match from a dig

depends, they can be beastly if modded correctly, and have more potential than the cobalt ever will.

well like i said i owned one, a 1990, and i'm positive it's 190 hp

and the lightest of the 1g dsm's was actually the plymouth laser sold here in canada (not sure about the states)

edit: okay we are both right, mine was not the awd which is 195, the non-awd is 190.. so i learned something

well if it's stock you can take him..

but to make it a bit faster (high 13's) all he would need is a boost controller and turn it up a couple of psi, it's that simple but a 1990 is getting to be quite an old car so you never know

High 13s? They run 15's stock and thats how he kept blowing it up. He turn the boost up on it. I think he went all the way up to 25 psi, with a fmic, turbo back exhaust, and a few other things i forget!

holy ****, well stock is around 14 psi i think, if he is turning it up to 25 psi without upgrading his injectors that no wonder that engine is taking a crap over and over they are probably starving for fuel ....

and yah they easily run high 13's with minimal mods, they are sort of "muzzled" from the factory so it doesn't take much to get more hp out of them,

Hmm.. well then there is probably something wrong with his setup and you'll take him anyways

At my local track 2 weeks ago there was a stock 2g running 15's and then a 1g a couple of weeks prior ran 13.7 with just a manual boost controller..

i've even got videos of the stock one running my buddys 2.4 cobalt

If i could find out what he has done then i could post, what would a balt need to get to the low 13's?

Well at minimum stage 2 with full boltons and a good tune and some cooling mods would get you into 13's if you can drive...... Add some drag radials or slicks and you'll get an even lower ET.

And then you can always get smaller pulley and larger injectors

And of course there is ralliartist running 13's on stock pulley and cooling mods so there are different approaches.

Yah full exhaust (header, downpipe, catback) and intake and then 42 lb/440 cc injectors and 2.9 - 3.1" pulley and heat exchanger or dual pass option b or meth for cooling

or if you're going all out go straight to 60 lb injectors and a smaller pulley like 2.8

40 in 2nd gear is a good place to roll race... 20 is a little low, but you could try both, and film it too
