on the way to work a gray dual cab silverado pulls next to me at light. Im not racing but have to take off (running late) he must think im racing and totally nails it. so im like ok, and do likewise, ofcourse i spin in second and hook and eventually pass him. BUT, i have to say i did not zoom right past him. it was a slow passing...... and i'm thinkin wtf does this guy have under hood??!! i couldnt believe how fast this TRUCK was. no it was not an SS either.

anyways, further down road he ends up behind me on a single lane. i gun it at 40 and zip to 70 in no time flat. i look in my mirror and expect to see him way behind and there he is, right behind me. followed me through the curves and everything!!!

at this point i dont know what to think>>>>> my balt was pullin real hard as well. maybe he had some vortech add on, turbo!!?? it looked totally new though??? help me on this one .... and yes i can drive ok and know my powerband!!

 

Maybe just tuned and exhaust and intake... There pretty decent with these mods

 

I have seen some Diesel trucks run at the drag strip, there no joke.

 

My 06 Silverado 2500 HD Turbo diesel Runs 13.3's with a Turboback, and a tune. Trucks can be fast OP, don't under estimate.

yeah some of those trucks are no joke
i ran again one at the track and was surprised
but some think they are fast and are slow as hell

i had a run in with a dodge ram that wanted to race me from a 50 roll so i was bored and did it
he claimed it was a high 11 truck no way b/c i walked away from him, then when we got back to the lot he said he ran 13s lol

 

trucks are beast.. heck even the 6.0L 2500's arent that slow. my dad has an 04, n when you get on the throttle its definately got some get up and go!! especially considering it all stock

 

It its not an SRT-10 then 99% of Rams are slowwwwwww lol

Turbo Diesels are the main things you gotta look out for beccause they are made fast so easy.

I know Area47's truck is pretty quick though and its just a V8 I believe.

 

it was a turbo diesel and he brake boosted like crap like my car was covered in black smoke i gotta find the video it was funny you see our two cars then he goes to build boost all smoke comes out the stacks and then you just see me shoot out from underneath it

You can see he hangs pretty well here til the 1/8th. They are damn quick til about 80 then nose over (unless its a real big boy setup on there)

Yeah only bad part is when you floor it as your speedometer goes up your gas gauge goes down at the same rate .

 

If he was piling smoke like a bitch then he most likely locked in his torque converter and ripped it. My buddy has a 2500 Cummins Ram and runs stacks. Bitch smokes like crazy when the converter is locked in

 

i had a diesel Chevy run with me from a light and we were dead even up to 70 when we stopped. it was pretty amazing.

 

Yea, that's what Im trying to say. A race to 80ish and you would be surprised what trucks can do. A roll race from 60 won't be the same story tho!
