Turbo Del Sol

Well my friend just had gotten his del sol turbo'ed. He did a b16 dohc vtec swap as well. He has light weight 10.5 lb wheels, full exaust, cai intake, and a lot of suspension work. He also has a short shifter, and a stage 2 clutch. We went 3 times all from a stop. First time he pulled a car almost immediatly. Second time was neck and neck through third...but only because he spun EVERY gear. And the third run he pulled another car on my before we had to shut down. The first and third races were short. But I'd like to go from a roll, and have my ass handed to me again. All in all it was fun. I was expecting to loose, that car is pretty quick

Woot, I love hearing losses. I don't race much (i always think the other guy is an undercover cop lol), but there is nothing wrong with losing, not sure why everyone always posts just wins!! Half of which are sketchy

Yeah but it was a really short race...he would have pulled like 7 if we kept going. they were from light to light.

Does he have a LSD? Doesn't sound like it. He could be in the low 13"s with a simple turbo setup on that b16.

Yeah, those engines are mad. My friend Craig had a B16 from a Del Sol in his '88 Honda Civic sedan. His best time at the track was a 14.9. That was a non-turbo.

he says on a good day, he can run low 13's, street tires, but with drags and a professional he figures his car can run mid 12's

Nice races man.

Can't say I'd ever want a Del Sol over an SS S/C though. No matter how fast it may be, its still an ugly little car IMO, just like the Civics from the same generation. People go to all the trouble to make them fast, but what good is a fast car when its a piece of crap to begin with??

Fast pieces of crap are cool too

For instance going 150mph+ in a huge turboed 1985 saab

Looks like a blur of an eggshell with a flying storm of rust following

Ugly and piece of crap are not the same thing. They are definitely not pieces of crap.

Sorry but I think they are pieces of crap. Look at the thing, its an ugly little ricebox with a whole 106HP under its hood. Basically just a crappy Civic from the same generation with a different body style.

Typical Del Sol:

All this coming from a Cavalier "w/ custom intake" owner. Oh the irony.

First of all I never said my car was fast. I also never said it was a better than any other car. So don't act like I did. And the bottom line is that none of that changes the fact that the Del Sol is still an ugly little ricebox on wheels.

I also think its ironic how you bash American cars, yet you drive a suped up import 4-door family sedan with a 4 foot tall wing and the ugliest front end of any car in production. Not to mention your car gets walked by cars costing $10,000 less from anything other than a dig. How cool is that

You drive the rental car that everyone hates to get. End scene.

Way to avoid the topic. You just keep saying that over and over like a whiney little kid, its a pathetic response.

It makes no difference, I never said my car was better than any other, get over yourself
