Turbo'd Civic
Turbo'd Civic
I raced a turbo civic last night. He just got the car back from the builder and got it tuned a lil earlier that night. He put down 305whp and 298wtq. He had a built b18 bottom end with a b16ported head. Tubular exhaust manifold, with a 60 trim turbo. From a 40 i pulled a car then top of third we were even then by fourth he was a solid car and still pulling when we shut down. He was very quick to say the least...but holy turbo lag.
Nice run. I ran a very similarly built civic hatch minus the turbo. This guy had a built b18 with all the bolt ons. I only have intake and i was only able to pull about a car on him from 40-95. Those little buggars can be fast.

Civics can be fast, esp when you turbo them. And they are cheap to do, compared to other cars.
Fortunately for me all the Civics I've ran against had bolt-ons and weren't fast...
Yeah I don't know jack about the B18, or VTEC's so seeing those figures wouldn't look skeptical to me...

LSVTEC = B18 block (non-vtec) w/ VTEC head.
It gets it's name, because the B18 non-vtec block was commonly found in LS model cars.
Similarly;
The CRVTEC is taking an early model CRV B20 and putting a Vtec head on it...

As far as easy... the B16a head is by far the easiest to find and work with, although in stock form it's not going to make the biggest baddest powerplant.
I'm partial to the B18c5 head for power, due to the larger, smoother ports, and upgraded valvetrain. Although, if your in the market for an LS-VTEC build, and you find a complete B18c5, you'd might as well just use that motor, as it yields similar power to the LS-V. For a CR though, you gain the advantage of the extra 0.2L.
