Here is me having fun with a friends 2nd Gen Z28 Camaro with like a 408ci motor. He actually only runs 14.3-14.5's... for now. He's getting ready to upgrade the carb and a few other things to run a lot faster.

Anyway, I had him take the Camera so that I could hear what my car sounded like ... and I decided to give him about a 1 second head start to make things interesting.

Z28 vs USMC

And here is me at the track with my G/F in the car and a full tank of gas - 94oct... in this pass I ran a 14.3 @100... which AMAZES me... because that is what the above Z28 runs (minus the trap speed... he traps low 90's IIRC. I have no idea how that happens. Like I said... I can't hook up worth **** at the track... I hear that it is because the Stock Pirrelli's suck. I raced a MKIII Supra with the 1ZZ or 1JZ motor... I can't remember which one it was. I won by like .3 of a second. And it was actually only because of my reaction time that I won. As you can see... he took FOREVER to stage... it kind of threw me off. After 10 seconds I look to see what he was doing to find him finally getting staged... I look forward and it's at the 2nd yellow light! ****!

USMC vs MKIII Supra

Stage 2's 850 idle... maybe a little more... never more than like 1500. At the track, I usually just let the clutch out and ease in the gas. Any more than than and I just bounce or spin. I tried a 2 grand drop once... and only once. Bounced like a basketball.

His tuner could have seen a sucker coming and tuned for a nice peak number and neglected to include something as trivial as a useable torque curve.

Nice thread. Good to see someone else reping the cobalt in style. Balts are so under rated as these vids show. With driver mod aka someone who can launch = badass balt. Thanks for posting and sharing these vids.

Either way though... it was definitely not running how it should with those mods. But he's still running low 13's with it with those mods. So it was still a descent run... but he should have had more IMO.

Yea that cobra was stock.

You'd have to look at his dyno sheet to see. Peak numbers mean jack, give me a nice GTO like torque curve any day.

My torque line is a very nice straight line from 2750rpm all the way to 7000. Starts around 200ft/lbs and ends around 200ft/lbs...

I'm working on it... I've got a list of cars I'm wanting to race. They usually come to me, so it's been pretty easy lately! This summer holds some promise.

I'm confused. Everyone keeps complimenting his driving skills, but USMC himself stated early in the thread that he's not that good of a driver, hence his lack of drag runs. Am I missing something?

I think hes being modest....Hes beating cars that are generally faster....either that or hes really lucky and racing people that cant drive worth a crap.

You know...there was just a post on Nasioc with a STI owner with the stock turbo and a TXS FMIC that made decent numbers but had horrible 1/4 mile times.

Probably has to do with coming off boost and then having to wait to re-pressurize the FMIC and all the extra tubing. While a dyno wouldnt show this since generally you start in gear on a load which will build boost THEN go WOT.

Here is the Nasioc thread..

Hmm he owns a blue 2007. hmmm lol AND lives in Ohio like you...hahahah this has got to be the same guy....

^^^That's him!^^^

And I never said I was a bad driver... I'm a bad TRACK driver. I've only been a few times... racing on the track and racing on the street are two different worlds.

Hey man just wanted to know how you liking the FP18G?? Is it a TD05 or 06? Now that you have it on, would u stay with it or go with a bigger housing like the TD06? or go with a 20G?
I'm asking cause I"m going 2.5 swap soon and I have a FMIC and I"m looking for something to fill it up. my choices are either TD0620G or Medium sized GT3076R.

Its the 7cm housing 18g. I love it, awesome around town although if you are doing a swap I would look into a 20g or even a green.

From the subaru forum...quote of the century IMO
