I know people are tired of reading camaro threads but it's been like two months since I've got a race so, oh well. Coming home from work I notice a 2010 v6 camaro get on the interstate, it's got different wheels, the GM bodykit, and some type of aftermarket exhaust. I waited ti'll he got behind me and went WOT for a few seconds to see if he'd bite. He did, got in the next lane, pulled a ricer move and as soon as he got in the other lane he hammered down. I let him get a car in front, and then I hammered it. I was in third about 65mph, so I knew he was going down quick. I let off about 120-125mph and was a retarded amount of car lenths in front. He wouldn't come up beside me afterwards. Thanks for reading (for the haters, there were no cars in front for about a half mile).

 

why let him get ahead one car? he prob stopped racing after he thought you werent.

 

i raced my cousins 10 v6 camaro from a 40 and i put bus lengths on him!

but i drove my cousins camaro prior to racing and its pretty quick. definitely no slouch...

 

it puts about 250-260 to the wheels. thats like racing a stock ss/sc with an intake

 

So true the Camaro V-6 is a lot heavier, about 13 more torque and a very easy senseless kill for a SS/TC. Not even worth the waste of time and gas to race

 

Yeah, I wasn't impressed either......but like I said, I haven't got to race anyone in two months, it could have been a prius with a muffler and I still would have raced. I let him get a car ahead so he'd think that he was gonna win.

A company is now starting to make ring and pinion sets for 5th gens. I think pretty soon there will be some low 13s v6s running around with just intake, exhaust, tune and gears. Not the fastest but a great dd that would surprise alot of people.

 

good win, for the simple fact of putting him in his place! thos v6 guys ALWAYS like to pretend or think they have the SS and ****. they always go down. just like the pony package mustang! theres a guy around here who did a shelby body kit and put cobra emblems all over it! i gave him a thumbs up and my friend smacked me in the ear. he fooled me i thought it was a shelby but then we put the windows down to hear it, it was like a dodge intrepid with a hole in the muffler hahaha

 

A kid that worked with me for a while had a 04 v6 stang and bought all the cobra stuff, wheels, seats, emblems. He will yell you it is a v6 buy thought he would still take me, he didn't like when I said I am not even goin to waste my time.

 

Nice kill. I think it would awesome to have the ss/tc sedan for simple fact that everyone would think its a regular cobalt. For all of the people saying that it is a waste of time, dont the v6 camaros run low 14s? Thats pretty similar to what most average tc drivers run.

 

The average TC driver runs 14s because of how difficult the car is to launch. A good TC driver goes high-mid 13s, and even that's traction limited.

Launching that 2 ton beast with rear-wheel drive is a hell of a lot easier.

For a roll race like this one or on a road course? The TC will annihilate the V6 Camaro.

 

Hunter, I went Wide Open Throttle for a few seconds, WOT. I did that to see if he was interested, and he was.

The race really was pointless especially considering I'm tuned but this isn't the "Only post races vs. cars with a chance" thread it's "war stories" and that was indeed a "war story."

Not as much as you think. I'm with him in the boat that a lot of V6 owners do think they're as fast as a V8 for some reason. This logic only applys to V6 Mustangs, Camaro's, firebirds, or any other car with a better V8 model. I don't mind Nissan Z owners or The G35/37 owners thinking they have quick cars.

I don't think any v6 owners aside from heavily modified cars think they are as fast as v8s, I think they just run what they have. And besides that, an LLT 5th gen can run low 14s stock, that's not exactly a slouch, especially for a base model car. And it is no different than any other car such as a 2.4 Cobalt or WRX modding and racing their car. They are just enjoying what they have, and having fun with it. Unless this Camaro owner rolled down his window and yelled "This ***** fast yo!" he didnt do anything wrong.

Not bad. I just looked up the spec on the 2010 V6 camaro and actually am impressed they put that much power into the 6 cyl, especially when comparing it to it's Ford counterpart the Mustang V6 with only 210 bhp and 240 tq.

Even the charger came with more hp in it's V6 engine, however, it is a fat pig weighing in at between 4000-5500 lbs.
