Well that was fun.

Haha, so I'm on my way home from work and there was a nice looking white skittle in front of me who's license plate said "MOPAR3R" and he had the Stage 3R badge on the trunk...I've wanted to run one of these pretty bad, they are supposed to be good for mid 12's at 115MPH+ and they put down 310HP and 325LB/TQ in "regular" octane mode, over 350 of both in 100+ octane mode...

We were both turning right onto a frontage road that's empty and runs alongside a freeway, I was in front, he was in back. We both gunned it around the turn (I was ahead by a car or so when we started) and I held the same distance up until we SLAMMED on the brakes at 125MPH because there was a bike cop sitting on the corner...we rolled past the cop at 60MPH and he didn't move, I pulled up next to the guy in the skittle and we both laughed with a look of "holy **** how did we not get pulled over".

We got to the next exit on the freeway and flipped a bitch...this time he's in front and I'm behind about a car, we both gunned it and I stayed the same 1 car behind him until 80MPH so I killed it.

All in all I was pretty impressed with my little slowbalt...my ONLY mod right now is Trifecta's new switchable tune at 22PSI (I've removed the K&N drop-in in my sig and gone back to the stocker) and I held dead even with a stage 3R (that's a full TD05 turbo swap for those unaware) from a roll, I think from a dig would have been the same story since we're both FWD. I was definitely not faster than him...but he didn't seem any faster than me as neither of us gained on the other. Just thought I'd share!

Sweet dude.. the only real big difference with the stage 3 is when they put in race gas and go into high octane mode.. there's a car here in alberta that turns low 11's with just a stage 3 on race gas, and not a 3r either. So on the street those stage 3 skittles are only low 13's then I'm assuming? And being that both cars are on pump gas, that puts them pretty even imo. If a guy had an Hptuners and race gas, you could probably do the same thing with a slowbalt I would think; high octane = gobs of power and torque with the tuning.. just that the stage 3's have the dial-a-boost thingy.. just a flick of a switch and they get the tune instantly that's needed to get the extra oomph out of her; no tuning req'd.

Yea there was a guy here who ran consistent mid 12's with the stage 3R kit and that was in normal octane mode, I never saw him run in high octane mode but it wouldn't surprise me if they could dip into the 11's. I'd assume this guys car was at LEAST a low 13 second car but more likely in the 12's.

And my car has selectable boost levels too

Normal mode is 15PSI and Competitive Mode is 22-23PSI.

It spikes to 23 and tapers off to 21-22.

Interesting...my HP tune does 22psi on a spike and holds 20. That's why I asked that question because I wonder if there is more left in my car.

You could definitely hold a solid 22psi with HP Tuners, I think Terminator holds 22.5 on his. Above that thoughI thought that right now if you boost 23PSI on the stock MAP sensors for more than 3 seconds you'll throw an overboost code and go into limp mode, that's what the sensors in the "30 days from eventually" stage kit are for. I didn't think (tho I could be wrong) HP Tuners has a way around this yet unless you were using MAP clamps. Trifecta's newest tune gets around the limit thru software without clamps so I could boost more than 23PSI if I was crazy, but I'm not.

Term's car has an intake and downpipe though. My tuner said the 20.1psi I got was the most it was going to do with having a 100% stock car. If I added an intake and exhaust the turbo would respond better. It still put down 291whp and 311wtq with being heat soaked so i'm really not complaining...just wondering if there is more in it.

Watch out for those srt's...one can be stock and the next has 600whp

Vince has mine spiking at 27lbs and holding at about 20lbs. Please keep in mind he had to do some altercations due to the fact that I live at over 5000 feet. He's gonna try and get it to hold a bit higher for me.

27psi? On a stock turbo? Are you trying to kill that turbo?

With my tune I spike to 26 and hold steady at 23 to 24. But that's with the 3 bar map sensors I got with the stage kit

I want the stage kit mainly for that damn map sensor, but $550 is some big bucks just for a map sensor.. does the ECM really react that much better to higher boost with the new map?

I said it peaks. It doesn"t hold. Goes right back down. We're trying to get get it to hold at 22-24lbs. Just trial and error at this altitude.

On my way home I thought I would see if this thing could go 155, well I hit 153 and was like thats good for me. It held at 20psi and the car is stock. Only had it for a week and love it. I fore see lots more fun and some trouble down the road.
