Who would win?
Who would win?
A friend of mine is having a debate over what would win a race.
His dream car is a 2009 Dodge Charger R/T Model, complete Stock.

Whereas mine is a 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, complete Stock.

I say that despite both being AWD and the Charger having more HP/Torque, the STI is significantly lighter and will have a much quicker pull in a 1/4 mile stretch since he wont get nearly enough time to pick up speed. Also I should note that the R/T is Automatic 4Sp and the STI is, as always, Standard 6Sp.
Purely theoretical arguement, it's not like we have the $35,000+ to drop on this idea.

My Dad's 300C(Non SRT8..just the 5.7 Hemi...same as an R/T) ran a 14.4 bone stock and that wasn't even the AWD one which I anticipate would actually be slower due to the excessive drive-train loss. I mean the car weighs as much as the average oil tanker so it has no problem hooking up...traction is a no issue. Those new STIs are nasty though...seen a few at the local track hit about 13.4 stock. EASY STI win...in ALL scenarios. However, if it was an SRT8...it would be a drivers race.
^ That's a good question.. I'd need full cooling mods w/ meth and 108 is definitely do-able.. Probably higher with 60's and a smaller pulley.. My car responds really well (top end wise) to slightly smaller pullies.. But I can't go smaller right now considering my injectors duty cycle is already at 118% at WOT in 3rd/4th gear.. Haha..

Unless the brand new 09's are, I didnt think they were either.
I actually believe the older STi's, like 05-08 or so were a tad bit faster than the new ones. And the base WRX is just about on par with the new STi, I think the STi ran the 1/4 mile in 13.5 and the WRX ran it in 13.6 I believe.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa the charger is rear wheel drive. The r/t is not specific to being AWD, but it can be ordered (i have seen it on the roads.. unless they took the time to put AWD in badge letters)..
Why would he dream of having the R/T?
STI would probably take this.

^^Pretty much exactly what I was gonna say
STI will walk the crap out of a stock r/t. SRT8 would be a wayyyyy better race.
And no offense to your bud but his DREAM car is a Charger R/T? Kid needs to dream bigger haha
