Who's raced an RSX-S???
Who's raced an RSX-S???
Ok so I was wondrering if anybody has race a RSX-S. I was cruising down I95 today and there was one riding in the fast lane doing 60! wtf? So I pass him doing 70 and as I creep by the guy riding bitch starts staring my car down and gives me thumbs down and is pointing and ****. So at this point I m pissed because I really hate most honda/acura (to me its basically the same thing) no offese to anyone that owns one I just don't like most of them because around here people slap on fart cans and think they're fast
So my exit comes up and I get off because I got to go to work. Now here's my question. Who has raced an RXS-S and how fast are they? Because I believe they have 210hp and 143tq stock but I could be wrong so in that case I would assume they're guttless and won't move that's all I know about them.
Also I am a 2.2 (L61) guy and I was wondering if I would be able to walk one of these guys or not. So far my mods are: Injen CAI, Jet Performance MAF (flash), Short Throw Shifter, Weapon-R Engine Damper, Dunlop FP Sport Tires 215/40/18 and some other mods that don't really mater (DC Sports Strut Bar, Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors, Russell Steel Braided Brake Lines, etc.). However I have a 2.4 Intake Manifold, CA UDP, and MRZ Lightweight Alternator Pulley I haven't installed yet because it's not warm enough and I don't have time. I will also soon be getting ZZPerformance's Header/DP (highflow cat) combo and a custom bent exhaust when the government fixes my paychecks since they owe me close to $500 (long story). So after all that gets thrown on will I be good to go or still need more. Or should I be able to just walk one now?
I m just curious and bored so discuss

im pretty sure you're going to need more than that...a lot depends on the driver of the car as well...ive raced many cars that should have beat me but because the driver sucked ass i won...i have a 2.4L with a gmpp intake and no other performance mods and i beat my buddy who has a ss supercharged. he was talkin **** for weeks and weeks and when we finally got around to racing i beat him cuz he obviously has no idea how to drive (quite embarrassing for him i might add)
i raced one, but he is my homie and he has basically everything done to it engine wise, depends on what year it was cuz 2005 rsx-s has like 180hp and like 130 tq or something like that, the new models have like 185 to 190hp i think, but im not sure. So i figure you will not walk one so easily, you need some more mods, but I dont think they will walk you so easily either unless they have mods done to their car, but it also depends on the driver
Damn, so on top of everything thing I have what I have to install and what I m gonna order it's still not gonna be enough? I figured with such little torque it'd be ***** slow kinda like how people talk about the RX-8
yeah the type s would walk on you no problem. I also have a 2.2 and granted we are quick for what we are but the type s would have no problem beating our cars. Stock for stock they will run pretty even with a supercharged ss Balt.
I've raced a mildly modded one from a 45 roll with my Stage II SC.
I can tell you that it hung, but I pulled him decently. Based on this one experience I've had I'd honestly have to say that I really think you'd get yanked, and pretty badly from a roll.
From a dig you could possibly hop ahead if he can't launch, of course it'd be a short matter of time before he blew by you. IMO.

well i just got done watching some dyno pulls on youtube and looks like stock the 05s are runnning aroun 185-190hp and 140-150tq so i think if i can dyno down around the same horses i think it will be a drivers race however i also looked at ones that were bolted.............yeah i can forget about that
well looks like after slapping on the udp, lightweight alternatoor pulley, header, dp, exhaust, i ll throw on a 2.4 tb swap and a tune then try putting on a solid engine mount and the prothane tranny mounts because that's all i got left unless i want to start pulling apart the block which i don't have the time to do. then i guess the only thing after that is to go find one race it and see who gets raped
They arent that quick... a type-s will smoke you in a 2.2 but I have raced K20A2's stock for stock and beat them (note plural:different cars different drivers) from 45-120 on every occasion. Only have one in town that can keep up with me now and its a k20a2 with K20a4 bottom end with a big ass turbo slapped on, and once i finish in the next month ill be able to beat him too
well even though everyone says my modded 2.2 won't stand a chance i m still gonna try it when i m finished building
hopefully i can get somone to record it but then again that might not be a good thing
I give the RSX-S the advantage but you never know. Hondas rely heavily on the driver to make the difference. A good driver makes all the difference in the world with them.
However, it sounds like you're building a nice 2.2, good luck! Give it a try sometime at the track.

^^^^^thanks for the comment on the 2.2 build i m almost finished because im running out of manufactured parts
like i said the only thing i can think that is left is a 2.4TB swap, tune, solid engine mount/tranny mounts, fidanza lightweight flywheel and/or stage clutch the rest is suspension/handling work. however i could break the whole thing down and put in different cams, pistons, rods, etc. but if i had time for that i would have just gone f/i
