Thats cool. I swear I never get to race anything really. I feel like I have a fast car but I never get to prove it. 90% of the time I usually race other balts HAHA.

Yeah, I got to run a balt yesterday. Youngin in an orange SS/SC...I saw him go out of his way to catch me. Got next to me and didn't even look over, so I was like....Ooook. We got out onto an open road, side by side, got on it and I pulled....and pulled....and pulled.. lol. Then he turned off before the next light we hit.

Sorry bout the thread stealin. Yeah, so I haven't gotten to run any GTO's yet. I do love shittin on Crustangs though, especially from behind. lol

Im still waiting to run a new gt mustang. I ran a older SVT Mustang and I beat him in the first race by like two car lengths. Then I raced him again and he put two car lengths on me haha. I talked to a guy that owns a shop and he said he sprays. He must of thought he wouldnt need it in the first run haha.

unlike the cobalt... it is EASY as hell to make rediculous torque in the grand prix.

it is NOT uncommon to make 280whp and over 400wtq.

i dont care what you think syP... i dont care what people have seen them run... weather conditions, elevation, whatever.. have a big effect on that..

im simply showing you what they HAVE run BONE STOCK before..

maybe in your litle econobox 50BHP is a MASSIVE difference..
but how can somebody call a LS1 GTO "piggy" is besides me..

everything is trap, magazine racing, and trap trap trap...


guys, the gto doesn't stop pulling at 106. if it gets to 106 almost a second faster, that's a big advantage. so, if the race went after a 1/4 mile, by the time the cobalt hit 106 the gto would be around 115. by the time the cobalt hit 115 the gto would be at 120.

and who sets up a mile race?

look at the 60ft times that is were your e.t.'s are at the faster they get the faster your e.t and generally the slower you trap

that fact of the matter is that in the same amount of distance one travels 106+ and the other travels 102 to 104 meaning it is slower

i understand that... but that doesn't mean that they're slowing down once they pass the 1/4 mile. they're still accelerating.

personally, i don't see the point in racing any more than a 1/4 mile. by that time, from a stop, the person that won with 4+ car lenghts would probably slow down because the race was over.

yes but if you go from a roll like 40 to 100 raction is taken out of the picture and the 106 trap comes into play. if you can go a fastermph in the same distance as a car yor car is faster.

who cares about about "faster" if it takes longer to get there though? i just think roll racing is silly, especially for an "organized" race.

and reaction time doesn't affect your 1/4 times, so that doesn't make a difference.

so a cobalt is faster than an evo? traps higher. cobalt will smoke an sti? traps higher.

a well modded balt will smoke a sti and a evo read the umsc thread with his races videos on all and he walks and hes 2.8 and intake exhuast.


onto my point agian most people don't plan races like me never have never will i think its dumb but when people roll up on me on the street i am game. i mean by your standards you would have a faster car then me because quite a few mods ago i ran a 15 flat but i trapped 105. see what i am saying you might run that 15 but your maybe doing 90 mph at the end

your logic is flawed.. the car takes almost a full second longer to get to point B..
i dont care if you are at 150mph or 100mph... the car that gets there first wins.. its quite simple...

i didnt see street draggers back in the 70's with their muscle cars pulling over to compare what MPH they were at when they hit a certain stoplight or stop sign or whatever... whoever was there first.. won...

then have someperson roll up to you on the street while you are minding your own business and want to race and traction does not matter anymore and if your car gets pulled and then the guy says i only run 14's and your like bs i run 12's its probably becuase he has a higher trap he just has traction problems

please go to ls1gto and tell me that 75% of all those races aren't rolls o wait they are. things happen on the street people race as a spur of the moment thing it happens. so everyone must be a ricer since they have raced from a roll.

were do you ever go zero to top speed every car has there limits some only go a certain mph but if you can get from 50-100 faster your car is faster. i beat both gto's i raced sorry they are not (ls1's)

a cobalt has no chance of pulling a manual stock GTO from a roll..

an automatic.. maybe.. depends on the exact speed that the race starts at... i can be doing 69mph... go WOT.. the car will kick into second.. squeal the tires and take off very hard.. if its a 70mph tho... the car slowly winds out 3rd

and lord help you if you pick a fight with a even slightly modded gto... might as well call in the bald guy and start negotiating lengths
