I'm on my way home from work and am in the process of turning right at a light. He's waiting at the red to go straight on the same road. I know it's a Cobra and I was hoping it wasn't stock, I wanted a challenge. I wait at around 40 until he catches up but he passes me and is cruising around 60. I shift to 3rd and let a hiss emanate from the BOV. He finally acknowledges that I am there and slows slightly as he downshifts. He hammers first and comes back about a bumper ahead. I spool and start to pull, about a fender lead at the top of 3rd gear. I shift into 4th and hold it, no more pulling so I let out. Only race I've had in a long time and it turned out to be a great one. We both slow and make the same turns towards my house. Turns out it was a guy I know who lives around the cornerand used to be involved with a Mustang shop that produced some sick cars. I used to see him driving his turbo fox around with the parachute on the back all the time. The next day I hear from a friend that he was a little surprised I ran with him like I did, the car trapped 122 it's last time at the track.
It's quite a feat, for sure, but I wouldn't call BS until there's more information.
Though trap speed doesnt matter that much from a dig. There is a guy that trapping 109 but running the 1/4 in 11.8. When I was trapping 109 i was running 12.8 lol. Trap speed tells you more of how your car will do from a roll.

A Cobalt would have to be modded to the MAX or be stripped to hang with a car trapping 122. A 122 trap speed with a decent 60' is a low 11 sec run. Its alot earier to go from 102-112 then in is to go from 112-122!

Stock motor save cams, FP Green, FMIC, 3" exhaust, 880cc injectors, Alkycontrol meth kit, etc.. Those are the major players here. Car has only been on a dyno once and it was a long time ago when I was running my welded center transmission. I have previously trapped 119 so that with my weight *should* put me around 430whp. Of course all of that is bench racing and the car is running better than that particular track outing. My car is about average for the car scene down here. Guys in the 12's are the slow ones.
Tell me about it. In town I have one of the fastest if not the fastest car but I go to Fort Wayne and that all changes. I remember when 12s were pretty fast. Hence the reason I did the built engine, 12s are average or "slow" now. As soon as get my new tank and fuel pumps I should have a low 11-high 10 car. Cant add any more boost because my pump is maxed.
hah, yeah. the NVMC (northern virginia mustang club) they have stangs running in the 8s and 9s all day.
04yellow, i'm in the same boat as you. my MAF, injectors & pump is maxed. new cobra tank and GT pumps are going to be installed sometime soon.

9k. I think it's a reasonable price, considering stock cars are still going for 5-6k. Mods alone don't really add value, but unless you can perform all the labor that's gone into this car yourself like I did you are looking at easily as much as I'm asking in that alone.
