well i'm starting this storry off just like the rest...

I KNOW THERE ARE TONS OF FAST GTP's and such out there...but not by me and not in this story so keep thouse stupid ass comments out of my story!

goin down dixe highway out tward pontiac/waterford a black tinted and droped GTP pulls up next to me....hes got it slamed to the ground BUT on stock tire/rim...i got a kick outta that!

so i hear an aftermarket exhasut and decied i've give him the chance to pull next to me...so i just slow down a bit and he sure as **** comes up next to me....and you can hear the engine spin up just before the trans downshifts and then off he kinda went...not all that fast for all the dam noise it was makeing!

so i pull even in 2nd at 40-45mph....thats the speed limit any way

he lowers his tinted to **** window and i give the nood and then i hear the down **** so i floor it....before i had to shift at 7400 i was a solid 3-4cars on the guy....poor gtp never had a chance!

so when i shut down at the 2-3shift he gave the famious "RICER FLY BY"....that made me giggle!

at the next light he blew thro the red and i stoped...

i dont call bs but gtp's cant really downshift there buddy

 

how the **** can a GTP not down shift....its a 4spd auto...while just cruzing at 45 the trans will kick into overdrive...so when he floors it the car has to downshift to get the revs up so the car moves!

 

and you can move the gear selector down from drive

 

true!....i cant think of any reason why somebody would say they cant downshift.....

O M G a modded gtp roll racing at 45 HAHAHAHA thats probably the WORST time to roll race a GTP i know exactly what that feels like in that car no kick at all hes at the bottom of 2nd my gtp used to shift out of first at 48 and get out of 2nd 97 or 98 so dont try and tell me 50 is a good race point bottom of 2nd thats like racing your cobalt from 20 in 2nd`

 

I prefer 35 to 40 for running my cobalt

 

he wanted to go so gave him the chance...never said it was fair nor close....

if he would of gone faster or slower to start i would of matched him at dam neer any speed.

 

all im saying is that a gtp is not fast from a 45 mile per hour roll unless its running 12's its a weak spot to gun it from i used to hate that part of the car it gets better around 75 80 but 50 is terrible like i said its like racing your cobalt at 20 in 2nd

I beat my roommates gf's gtp all the time. It's just friendly competition tho cause i can see how much a change in tuning/mod does by running her car which is still stock. Nice lil way to check and balance. I like GTP's tho.

yeah very bottom sometimes when i used to be at 50 i would floor it and there woulnt be any wind up in the sc you would just kinda accelerate quicker it wouldnt give you that spool or throw that you normally get
