z24 vs SS/SC

Had a Z24 try to race me on the highway.....I was doing a meagre 110 km/h in the middle lane and had a Z24 on the fast lane..............He tried to punch it so I wanted to see what the SS/SC could do just by flooring it in fifth gear as it was. The Z24 never got any farther than my rear bumper and it was stopped by it's governor at about 170km/h. I never downshifted and only put on the gas!!! I love this car.

what generation was that Z24? I have a 2nd gen Z24 with the 3.1L V6 auto. I had a friend drive it for me, just for fun. We lined up and the Cav never had a chance against the SS/SC, immediate 3 cars between the two and the gap just got bigger from there out. And I thought my Z was fast at one time.......

I had a Z24 try to race me to back on October. I don't think he had any idea what the SS\SC was all about. Sounded like it had an Intake and exhaust but the engine had seen better days.
Anyhow, not much of a race as I shut down somewhere way up in 3rd and he was so far behind by that point there was just no reason to keep on it. The funny thing is I let him catch up, and even at full bore when he got about at my back bumper, I nailed it in 2nd and pulled him again !!!! HAhaha.

No need to walk on eggshells, you do have boost and you do pull him Hell if I had a stage 3 with nitro I would pull a Zo6, but I dont . Look at all the work he had to do just to get pulled by the SC... If I had scraped my knuckles and busted my ***** to do get that work done, I would be a wee bit pissed to get pulled by a blown stock 4 banger. Especially with 2 extra cyls to boot.

Nice !

CAnt wait for racing season to start up again

I had a 99 Z24, with Intake, Exhaust, and platinum plugs for what they were worth.

There is no WAY I could have ever hoped to keep up with an SS/SC.

I am very impressed with my 2001 Z24 with it's only mod being a K&N with the 5 miles of resonators removed.

I am a wee bit pissed about the 108mph fuel cut off.
