this has probably been beated like a dead horse but....

Nitto INVO ~$138
Nitto NT05 ~$141
Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec ~$178

I'm on pretty much bald Conti2's right now... the wear bar itself is half gone and i rounded the shoulder at an autcross a month or so ago... Prior to the Cobalt i dailied a RWD car on 315/35R17 and then 275/50R15 BFG Drag Radials with a 165 up front so i'm fine with the not so wonderful wet traction...

Which tires do you suggest at why?

Discount tire doesnt have the star specs in stock anywhere that i can find... and usually if its not on the site its 2-3week wait time... i might just go with the NT05 for the time being...

NT555's suck... the 555R is a good daily driver tire for someone who needs a drag radial tho...

I've been using NT05s with my Pedders coilovers and OTTP mild bar setup. I've been having trouble with them. Maybe it's just that I can't warm them up and keep them warm in DD use, esp in the now cooler weather, but I've been having trouble getting them to hook up on digs and rolls as well as been faced with some hairy understeer and hydroplaning a couple times. I really expected more from them. Like I said though, it may be that I'm never getting them warm enough or something, as I DD a lot.

I'm currently looking for a suitable replacement for them. The RE960AS Pole Positions I had were awesome compared to these, hooking up very well, and were extremely predictable at the limits... and were great in the water... and were all-season... and were twice the tread life. I'm looking at either going back to those or trying out some RE11s. Venom09 has been recommending RS3s to me, so I've added those to my list of ones to look into.

I just put on some Continental DWS for the winter and LOVE them. I will never run a summer tire in the winter again. To throw a sticky summer tire on and run them in freezing temps just ruins them.

I haven't had any problems with the NT05's. I have heard nothing but good things about the star specs.
