234/45/17 Tire Decision Help

Since the custom Rota's are coming in soon I need to choose some rubber. I don't think a 245's will stuff nicely when I lower the car, so I'm thinking the 235's would be my best bet. Here is what I have come up with for tires. Which set of tires would you go with out of these? I'm leaning towards the T1R or Sp Sport Maxx's. I haven't ever been a huge fan of goodyears, but I loved my old BFG KDW's on my Z24.

1. Toyo T1R (Max Perf.)

2. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx (Max Perf.)

3. Goodyear Eagle F1 (Max Perf.)

3. BFG KDW (UHP)

I'm a Cooper Zeon ZPT fan myself. Fairly good wet traction, and plenty of confidence in high speed turns. Had them on my lowered cavalier and they were very good to me. After a year of ownership they still had plenty of tread life on them.

#1 Yokohama Advan AO48
#2 BFG G-force T/A KD (not the KDW)
#3 Nitto 555R Drag Radial

these choices are based on dry traction and come in 245/45r17. I think that is the best choice for our cars lowered or not as it is the same diameter as the stock tire size. It was also ran in the time attack cobalt.

That would pretty much seal the deal for me.

the yoks are decent track tire but I would say the BFG's would be your best street tire choice, as for the time attack SS I would think since it was built allmost to be a Grand-Am ST class car it would have Hoosier race tires on it.

The neo gens are a very nice tire, i think 245's will tuck nicely under the wheel well.

245's will fit fine on the wheels. All the tire companies slot rims sizes according to tire sizes, and most of them state a 7.5" wide rim will do the trick. The issue is whether or not the tires will rub with the car popping a squat. If I can get 245's in there, I'll be getting the RT-615's for sure.

BaltM62, the wheels should be done on the 29th of this month. It may take a couple weeks to get them though afterwards, being that the holidays are here right now.

Im still on the fence with tires . When the wheels come I will still be going to the Tire Rack and having them mount up 4 old 245/45-17 whatever brand tires off one their 3 series BMW's . Then Im gonna drive around and see if they have clearance issues at all , and how that wide of tire feels with our electric steering box . Im still sticking with the FI GS D3's because of how much I drive ( average 2800 miles a month ). Im not swapping tires for the weekend unless their a pair of slicks , so I need DO everything right tire . This tire is as good as a BFG-KD in the dry , and the grip doesnt diminish all that much on wet pavement , and the treadwear rating is High .....220 if I remember right . Alot of the Yok's , bridgestones , michelin's I looked into seemed to favor 180 or less on treadwear and not offer any traction advantage over the F1 D3 on dry pavement and they all were much worse in the wet .

I already counted out the Yoks and Bridgestones because of the tire wear ratings and isanne prices. I would like to stick with a max performance tire as well, and not have to go down to the ultra high performance tire category. It seems there are not enough choices right now. I guess when the time comes to make the decision here soon, I'll either end up with sticky tires that suck in the rain or sticky tires that wear out quick!

245/45's RT-615 from Vulcan Tire $504 shipped to my door! It's only $6 cheaper, but at least I buy lunch for my buddy to install them for me!
