245 40 18 Tires on 08 SS TC stock rims?

Title says it all.

I found a set of 4 new tires for a good price. I plan on picking them up this Friday, but want to ensure they will fit on my stock rims and on the car withuot any modification. UI'm sure it's been answered somewhere onthe forums, but I am not so familiar witht he search tools etc etc.

If someone could confirm they fit that'd be great!

Thanks!

Will they fit but they are technically too big for the rim.

I just did a search on that topic, and there are way too many posts and all. I keep reading some people use 245 40 18 just fine, while other are saying I'll have rubbing issues. Is anyone actually using those size of tire sucessfully or they just heard stuff?

I had 235 40 18 in the past and never had any issues. Anyone can confirm the same with 245's?

Thanks!

I know I have a different size rim and all but mine are 245/45/17 and the car is lowered and it doesn't rub.

I ran Dunlop Star specs in a 245/40/18 on stock wheels with a slight rub on the rears with passengers. I had Pedders and my car is a sedan so take it for what it is. The 245's are big for the wheel, my F14's hadn't shown up before our first couple of events so I ran them on the stocks. I had no issues with the front even with -2 degrees camber. I currently run 255/35's on a 8.5 with no issues.
