Okay so this might get me flamed but it seems like I cant find a straight answer anywhere.

I recently purchased some rims in a 5x112 bolt pattern. Knowing a cobalt ss pattern is 5x110. I was going to use pcd variation lugs to mount the rims.

Test fitting the rims I found that the bolts line up with the lug holes on the rim perfectly. And I can mount the rim and have the lugs seat well. Basically I can mount the 5x112 rims with normal lugs.

Of course I'm using hubcentric rings. I've been driving on the rims for two days now and I haven't noticed any vibration or looseness in the rims.

Has anyone else done this and how unsafe am I for doing it? Are my hubs just going to explode on me eventually? ):

Why would the hubs explode? All that's happening is instead of the lug nuts being centered is that they are slightly off and probably making slight indents where they're putting more pressure to one side now, just make sure you re torque them and you should be good.

I'm about to do the same thing. Please update with your experiences. Honestly it shouldn't be an issue.

When I was into VW's I used wobble bolts (PCD Variation bolts) so that I could run 5x114.3 wheels on my 5x112 car - never had any problems.

Probably going to use PCD variation nuts to run 5x112 wheels on my Cobalt this summer - way more possibility of finding wheels in the right size...

I looked into this and almost did it awhile back. PCD variation nuts will work perfectly fine and I have some brand new ones if you want to buy them. Just keep in mind that they do not make Ball seat PCD variation nuts. They only come in 60 degree conical.
