another: "I don't know which tire" help me out

well I have read a lot but still undecided.

I have a 2007 balt SS/TC with the stock rims (18) and I want a tire that can make a good job on the daily use (tread)and have a good traction when street racing. I am going to buy a pair for now so I don't want to spend more than $170 per tire.

here are my options: you are free to suggest
On this size: 235/40/18....
1) Nitto NT555 tread 300 A A
2) Maxxis Victra MA-Z1 280 AA A
3) you tell me...

thanks.

Pd: I have heard about the Nitto NT-05 but I think that tread life will be too short for a daily use driving

bump for help

Sup buddy...Look, i'm going to be straight up with you. The two tires you have listed are bad bad bad!!! For the price you are looking at i would get the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2....$149 per tire, but the best tire not only for your price range but the best tire for every price range is
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec they are a little more... $175 per tire... but they are the best for track autox drag and daily drive ability.....hope this helps.

Love my Falkens, stick to the road far better than the stock Conti's.

Nitto 555's. Hands down. I've even driven with them many times in blowing snow, packed snow/ice and sleet, and rain, IMO, common sense will prove u that they are great tires. I've had mine on since late December and drove daily, 1st and 2nd gear takeoffs with my power, jus a lil slip and then after that it's 100% grip and go. Very quiet tires too, comfortable. There is a reason why they cost what they do. they are made perfectly too, all 4 of mine were already zeroed out on the balancer so no need to put any ugly weights on the wheels. So,, nitto 555. Mine are also in 235/40-18

Dam this is confusing I am checking the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec too see them.

I think 200 treadwear will not last too long

Hankook Ventus V12 EVO

I love mine.

Also, look at the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 (I think.. maybe the 050 or whatever, one is supposed to be really good)

You'll be lucky to get 15,000 on a set of Star Specs.

I am thinking the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2.

everyone is telling you what the "best tire" is but it all depends on what you want. Could anything from a Nitto NT-01 to some rock hard 600 treadwear.

What do you want from the tire? How long do you expect it to last?

I want to have a good tread life (not 12000 miles) and that have a good traction to make some pulls at the streets. A good daily driver tire

go to discounttires.com , get the Hankook Ventus V12s for under 105 bucks a corner. They are 280 rating so it'll at least last a full year even if you decide to drive hard.

RE-11s are expensive and don't like the wet at all. They will grip slightly better in the dry than the star specs but for all around drivability...star specs crush all...unless hydroplaning on off-ramps is your thing then go for the RE-11s!

I would say for a good street tire Hankook V12 (amazing for the price) , BFG KDW2 or Nitto 555 extreme. Couldn't go wrong with any of those. On the street you won't notice the difference between these and the best of the ST tires but, are gonna wear a whole lot better.
