Anybody fit a 9" rim/tire in the rear?
actually i would also like to know... ive seen it done with VW's and it looks hot.. I think a some wider wheels in the back and stretched tires would look sick i know some 1 can photo shop somthin atleast
atleast some spacers to make the Rear wheels flush wih the fenders...look at my sig an youll see wut i mean...see how the rear wheel is tucked in there...put some spacers on there to widen up the stance a lil bit. But deff. not some Beaner mobile with the wheels stickin out 3 inches past the fenders

to all of those who say he's going to get flamed...or to those who will flame. please read.
Why would anyone want to put a 9" tire in the rear? For many reasons.
For starters, he could want it for looks, I doubt id like it for looks but that brings me to my all time favorite quote, "Whatever Floats Yer Boat, Charlie Brown".
But the most reasonable reason for wanting to put a 9" tire on the back is simply to reduce the rotational mass on the rear end.
It wouldnt be the smartest (as opposed to a 9" in the front) but it will help.
Why would it be faster? Simple. Smaller wheels turn faster at the same speed than a bigger wheel (simple mathematics and science and ****).
But moreso, less rotational mass. Less weight to get turning. Wont help you top end (might hurt your drivability at some speeds) but it will help in the 1/4 mile.

lol. would love to throw a 9" tire on there for the track, but wouldn't fit over rear calipers. I did mean 9" wide.
Y flame? Theres lots of fwds doing the 9" in rear and 8" in front (usually with a deeper lip in rear) and it looks HOT! Not worried about rotating tires, and if thats ur worry, i'd get assymetrical tires so they can go side to side.
But has anybody actually attempted 9" WIDE
tire in the rear? When i get a chance i'll try to measure it out.

Is the intent to make it look like a RWD muscle car? If so, wouldn't a Camaro or 'vette make more sense?
It would be interesting to see how that set-up would handle with FWD.
but yes, i think he is looking for the aggresive stance.

Nate, I have already told you how to put some big ass tires on the back. A man with your skills should have no problem fitting some 390x40x17" in the back with some minor frame adjustments.

I want to see this as well thats the exact look i want really aggressive. but there may be a bigger problem in finding a rim with our lug pattern that looks good and kepping it in a resonable price range i also want to kick my rims up to 19" as well.
i would love to get nice big ol tires in the back... but i wont do so until i get a rwd or maybe awd conversion
btw i used to have a camaro with 275/40/18 and 295/45/18 tires with black/machined c6 replica rims and i loved the look but for a fwd car its useless

Now thats what i"m Fcking talking about!!!
that looks awsome!! I see in the mags a stance similar to this on hondas, and other fwd cars...even the honda fit in this months modifier mag ( i think thats the mag).K.. now how do we find out what will fit.. lol.. whos the guinea pig?
Nate
by the way wut is our lug pattern?? if i knew i could deff start searching cuz unless i can get this stance im not changing my wheels.. mayb even b able to stretch the tire a lil bit..that would look so0o f**king sick
its possible to get a wide in the back stance withought going 9"... i got a 235/40/18 tire all around and if you kept the stock 215 or went to a 205 you could get a similar look... ill check tomarrow how much space i got but i dont think you can go much bigger.
