Anybody fit a 9" rim/tire in the rear?
to all of those who say he's going to get flamed...or to those who will flame. please read.
Why would anyone want to put a 9" tire in the rear? For many reasons.
For starters, he could want it for looks, I doubt id like it for looks but that brings me to my all time favorite quote, "Whatever Floats Yer Boat, Charlie Brown".
But the most reasonable reason for wanting to put a 9" tire on the back is simply to reduce the rotational mass on the rear end.
It wouldnt be the smartest (as opposed to a 9" in the front) but it will help.
Why would it be faster? Simple. Smaller wheels turn faster at the same speed than a bigger wheel (simple mathematics and science and ****).
But moreso, less rotational mass. Less weight to get turning. Wont help you top end (might hurt your drivability at some speeds) but it will help in the 1/4 mile.
