Axis wheels.....
Well, I was walking by my car the other day, and I saw was I at first thought was some black tar or something smeared on the lip of my wheel. So I went up to it and started scratching at it with my finger nail. Turns out, it wasn't tar.......or anything stuck to the wheel. Rather, the clear coat had started peeling off.......so when I scratched at it, I just ripped a big ass chunk of clear coat off. I was f'ing pissed.....considering the car show season is just starting....and now this. Now, thing is, the wheels arent even a year old. I bought them brand new from wheelsnext.com last August, and when I had bent one last fall, I drove around on my stock wheels for a few months.........so really, the wheels havent even been on the car even close to a year. I've never used any type of wheel cleaner on it.........never trusted that stuff on painted wheels........always just used warm water and soap. The winter months are long gone........and even when it was snowing here and there, I rarely drove my car through salt, and when I did, i'd rinse my wheels off almost immediately. It just ticks me off that the finish on these wheels is already started to crack out......hell, I had MUCH shittier no-name wheels on my RX-7 back when I had it, and they never did this to me. And these wheels are about $500 a piece, so thats not cheap to replace.......and a $500 wheel shouldnt do this in under a year.....or ever for that matter. Im gonna call Axis later today and explain to them whats going on, and see what they have to say.
