He wasn't lowered. The point is he was asking for info on running a 285 I happened to find that exact setup already tried and true. Would i run this as a daily setup? hell no! lol that's why I provided my setup for what i have found works best for a daily wide tire fitment.
Why are you so defensive? lol I like your setup, it just has nothing to do with what this thread is intended for.

Well then you missed the point of the thread and my post. We are talking about running a fat ass tire and getting some damn traction. I bet you murder those poor lil 215's! It looks great don't get me wrong, but I am going for some nasty traction and so is the O.P. I am tired of racing EVO's that I am much faster than from a roll, but getting shat on in a dig.
^^ This.
I am tired of spinning to 70mph. plus, my car is not nearly as low a the one pictured. if for some reason a 285 gives me problems then I'll drop to a 265. I'm not worried about rotation, I wear them out so fast that it's not really that big of a concern.
I do appreciate all the input though.

I'm on my phone, just realized there was a second page. I realize that most of you wouldn't go this big. my thing is, I've between building cars for 15 years, and I've learned to do what you really want the first time. why spend $2k on a setup that is only marginally better than what I have? I want to go as big as reasonably possible, hence, this thread. thanks to everybody that has chimed in.

Not really getting defensive Just stating whats going on in this thread and my input lol
Not sure how you guys are spinning so bad, my car was making 324 hp 421 tq on S Drives which arent the top dog for performance so im sure just a really good tire will do the trick.

the tire and offsets are just all wrong, the car will not be visually appealing at all.
a possible option would be to actually remove the brembos which allows more clearance, its what those who run a slick actually do.
and those who complain about traction should invest in a driver mod lol!
fwd with a stretched 215 walking awd!

I beat WRX's/STI's all the time, so I'm not sure what that is all about. For all I know that eclipse is stock, in which case you should have easilly beat him.
This video was rolling on the gas, on a day when it was 100 degrees on newly paved asphault. I really don't know how I could get any better surface short of a prepped track. On nights when it's <70, I'm just sitting there waiting for it to hook up. The video was with a 235 R-comp tire, which was substantually better than the Nitto 555's and the laughable Conti's.

heres a question... could these differences in traction between members here be due to the nature of the tune. you can limit the amount of torque for each gear. I have that table at 100% throughout so my foot is my traction control, but I know others set it up differently.. setting it up this way with ESC OFF in a pull destroys my 225 all seasons and I'm just on a very conservative stock turbo 93 HPtune.
this isnt about driver mod.. if the car is spinning its spinning. not sure how there is much of an argument there

fresh pavement ofcourse its going to spin lol I could spin with a versa with that ****. Either way this thread went from people trying to help to people saying I spin so I need to make drastic changes lol. Its not about offset at all.

i didnt mean to come off that way lol.. but im just saying you could technically limit a certain gear if you wanted to stay hooked up.. high torque spinning vs lower torque gripping (gripping obviously winning) kinda throws this kind of tire fitment being needed out of the equation. its not like your power wont be there in 3rd (where its likely you wont spin) if you keep those cells at 100%
cheap fix at least. I'll be looking into this if I have traction issues at AutoX. I'll just find the limit the tires hook up at with my power and limit out second gear appropriately. If the tires can handle 100% then great, otherwise if not its just slowing down my times
