Can your tire stand up to this???
I was driving on Rt. 20, over near Rt. 80, yesterday morning on my way to work. As I pass the idiot who was in front of me in the left lane, I hear a clink-clink-clink, and the sound of a flat. I wasn't sure how I had a flat as my tires we're in good shape. 1/2 a mile down the road I pull into a parking lot to change my tire. the first thing I see....
I change my tire and goto work pissed off that I need a new tire now. When I got home i went out and pulled this from my tire....
Apparently they didn't fully clear the road of forgien objects. I think the car next to me kicked it up and thats how it ended up in there. I'm going to contact the state on Monday and tell them about this, supposedly they will cover things like this. What if I kicked it up and it flew into the windshield of the car behind me?? At least I got my new tire on today and didn't have to drive an SS/SC around looking like this....
At least the jack and spare came in handy and work....lol....The angle it went in at, it was about a cm or mm away from hitting my rim. It went it pointing towards my wheel well. The was a slight hole right by the rim....thank god for reinforced walls. I had 21k on my P-Zero's and no problems...my other three tires are in good shape....

WOW....
That is a big hunk a metal!
That kinda stuff sucks and there's no way to avoid it happening to you sooner or later, but the important thing is no one was hit by it. Imagine if you had your windown down and it skipped of off the road and hit you or someone else? It's lucky it didn't hit the wheel as you said. That is no fun to have to replace an OEM wheel.
My dad hit a 3/4" dia bolt ( kinda like an anchor bolt ) that was about 10" long and it went right in the tire and rattled around in there as the tire went flat. Ended up bouncing off the tie rod beforehand and bent it. Fun fun fun...
Let us know what the DOT says about it.

I think it's a spike that holds in the metal plates that go in the ground, OR for the movable dividers...BTW paid $235 for a new 215/45R 18 P Zero, got a discount from my bank job at the goodyear up the road....not bad....Ill let ya know what DOT says.....
My mom said i was lucky i didn't crash, I told her i would have had a 2007 SS/SC then....lol

i dunno.... I've had great luck with my P-zeros.
8+ months, 23K miles, and still look good. Granted they're below 50% now, but I still got a few more months on em.
I get them rotated every other oil change so they get rotated every 3 months. All depends on your driving style, locatoin, and rotating shcedule.
