Cavy wheels on a Cobalt for winter?

So winter in Michigan is coming up and I heard Cobalts aren't that great in the snow. So I want to swap on a cheap set of rims and tires. I was wondering if I could get some rims off a cavy and put them on the Cobalt?

Thanks!

!Josh

You can get the steel wheels off an HHR they are 16's and they will clear the brakes.

You have an SS right?

basically no...there arent any real "cheap" rims for this sucker.

its a bitch. the absolute cheapest rim i found was $99CA per rim (16 inch steely)
GM couldnt even come close with ANY wheel. lowest they could get was $135.

they are 5X110 bolt pattern.

I got aluminum 16's for 120 a wheel. I mean its 20$ more then the steel ones, but **** who cares for 100$ when u get nice aluminum instead of black steeel wheels. And no cavs wont fit, but HHR/malibu/Impala will fit. As long as the are 16" and up

YEah, used is cheaper if u can find them. I was just afraid that the border would **** me up. I think rims have a high duty rate. So i couldnt find local used wheels, so went new aluminums..... but if u can find used, deff cheaper if they arent bent!

I am using a set of four Cadillac Catera wheels, there is barely any clearance, I mean none, but they work. 1000+ miles and no problems. Check my gallery for the pics, I got them off of eBay for $175 shipped!

You should check out the tirerack at www.tirerack.com, I got a set of sport edition F7's for like $80 a piece and they are nice looking 16" five spoke rims. Not too thin, not too thick, and very clean looking. I bought them with winterforce (firestone) tires on them ($77 each) so the whole set wasn't too expensive. Of course this was back in August. I'm kind of excited to finally get to throw them on soon and see how the snow goes.

PS-I did mount one wheel just to make sure it fit and it does
