Does anyone have these tires? If so, have you ever used them in the winter? How do they hold up?

Reason I ask, is mine are almost brand new.. 10,000 miles on them at most, and I don't want to dish out $750 for winter tires.

They are 215/45/18's.. On their website it says winter traction will get you by, but I'd like an outside claim.

My guess will be that it will be a terrifying winter for you if you don't change them. I used the factory Dunlops for the 1st winter (maybe 10'000 - 15'000km), and it was immensely scary/frustrating. All season tires usually become very hockey puck like in the winter (aka, get 'harder'). Winter tires are very worth it, especially if there isn't a lot of tread depth like you'd get for a light truck tire.

Yeah I had a feeling the compound would get harder.. They do have wonderful tread depth though!

I might have to dish out the money for some Blizzaks.

Blizzaks are pricey and wear fast from what I've heard. I like my Cooper snow tires just fine and they are almost half as much $$$ as Blizzaks. Driving on summer only tires in winter is not worth it. I won't even use all-seasons in winter anymore. Snow tires really are that much better and they could save your life. How much is your life worth to you? lol

I've used my Cooper's for 3+ winters (bought my car in Feb.) and I can get at least one more winter out of them. Blizzaks may last 2-3 winters.

I put some Michelin Pilot Alpin tires on the stock SS N/A rims, and did fine (other than snow build-up inside the rim). I've had them on for a full year (never took them off after the 1st winter) + an extra winter. They're still going to be good for another winter too (so, maybe 80'000km so far with the full year round use and an extra winter).

Edit:

Which reminds, me, I need to put them back on!
