Cracked stock wheel, time for new wheels?

Hey guys, long story short I have a crack on the inner lip of my rear driver side stock 09 SS/TC wheel and my tire will not stay inflated because of it. The dealer does not have any stock wheels in stock or in production right now and they do not know when they will get any in stock.

My question for you guys is should I just get a replacement stock SS/TC wheel (dealer wants to charge me $550 for 1 wheel) or is this a good time to just go ahead and get a new set of wheels and keep the 3 stock wheels as backups? Also, I just got new tires (installed on 5/13/13), when I get the new wheel(s) do I just take it up to discount tire and have them swap the tires to the new wheel(s) or do I take it to the dealer?

Where is the best place to buy a new set of wheels?
Where can I get replacement stock wheel (cheaper than $500)?

Thanks in advance guys!

Get a new set if you can afford it as if you just get the one it will always look newer than the other 3.

$550 for one wheel is steep, people are always selling wheels on here rummage threw the classifieds you might find on, or just go aftermarket.

Where is a good place to buy aftermarket wheels and what brand/model should I get? I am looking for a set of durable wheels that don't crack/bend that easy.

I just bought and installed new Venture V12's (size 235/40-18) before I knew I had a crack and the wheel, the guys at discount tire failed to see the crack when installing the tires I guess. If I were to buy aftermarket wheels, what size wheel will fit these tires (I am not familiar with wheel sizes)?

Discount tire and tire rack usually have good deals on wheels...for maybe $1-200 more you could get a new set of wheels, might find some on sale in the $500 area

I'll say it's gonna be hard to find a set that is as strong and same weight as stock tc wheels on any kind of budget. Surprised you weren't losing air in your old tire if that wheel was already cracked when you bought new tires. Wouldn't doubt if it was cracked during the tire install. Probably why they didn't " notice " it. Just my two cents .

I forget where the body shop got my wheel but you can get the aftermarket wheel just like the TC Wheel is for 200!. I hit a pot hole with mine and cracked my wheel took it to a wheel shop and had it welded up, just weld was 85 out the door. I thought that was a fair price. Name of the the shop was quicksilver rim repair! Look them up on line not sure where your from but they have a few shops up the east coast.

Ya I found a local shop that is pretty reputable around here that do a good job at repairing wheels. I have a hairline crack on my wheel so it should be repairable. I will keep you guys posted on my progress and experience with this shop as soon as I set things in motion.
